Isola — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

Isola restaurant ruined ou trip for their horrible food and extremely overpriced and disrespectful dish options. We ordered a Ribeye Steak which cost us 36 euros for 200g of meat and another 20 grams of vegetables. We complained and asked to speak to a manager which was disrespectful the whole time, and initially said he would not come to speak to us because he “was too busy” when he simply just wanted to ignore us. We spoke to the manager of the Theo hotel about this matter and they did nothing about it. They got me so upset that I called both the restaurant manager and the hotel manager clowns, as they rob their customers and create situations that are disrespectful and do not care about their guests. I was forced to pay for disrespect a horrible meal and cynicism coming from both managers. When I got upset they attempted to intimidate me by saying that I was out of line and did nothing to solve the situation. I paid more than $1500 euros at my stay of 4 days there just to have my whole experience and vacation ruined on the last day. These people are mercenaries and they do not care about their guests. I do not recommend this place and will tell you that you will have horrible experiences at this restaurant and their partner hotel will not do anything to even attempt to resolve any problem. We recently visited for dinner during our stay in Stalos. It was a bit more expensive than the other restaurants we visited but we fancied fish and this looked like the best restaurant for this. The cost of the meal was double what we had paid everywhere else. The food did not disappoint. Everything was delicious and well presented. The cocktails were also really good. The atmosphere wasn’t quite there but I think that’s because we ate quite early. We had a great table overlooking the sea and the sunset. The only let down was the service. Our main course was brought out before we had finished our starters so we had to rush the starters so our main did not get cold (as fish gets cold pretty quickly!). I am not sure who has placed past reviews…we have spent 5 months in Chania and have a home here and the food is generally amazing in Chania…this however, was the worst experience we have had! Drinks were incorrect which is fine…mistakes can be made…however with exception to the sushi…the food was inedible. Most dishes were pasta..how can you go wrong with pasta? The pesto seafood pasta was so heavily covered in pesto…could not eat more than a quarter of the dish. The bolognese tasted of pasta and nothing else. The carbonara was sent back to the kitchen twice…tasted like macaroni cheese. Salty cheesy mess. Tasted like a packet sauce you would mix from the supermarket! Absolutely disgusting.
