We stayed at this hotel in September when the tourist season was coming to its end so generally there was a very pleasant and relaxed and easy atmosphere anywhere you went on Samos and in Kokkari (best!). The hotel is really good and keeps fantastic high standard. Very well located, right in the middle of everything, and still away from the main street. So no external buzz/noise reaches it. The lady owner is extremely amiable and considerate. And she fluently masters several languages. The staff is all very helpful and ever so friendly. The gardener picks flowers or mint or oregano from his garden for lady guests. We had a two-floor apartment, in perfect condition, clean and tidy at all times, lovely decorated and up-to-date equipped. One thing was disappointing though - the closeness to each other - it's about one meter between the balconies or apartments doors, there is no privacy whatsoever as most of the rooms face the inner passage. You see and hear absolutely everything next to you or opposite you; it echoes up and down and to the right, and to the left. It's like a tiny inner garden, a beehive. We were most unfortunate to live above/next to a company of 9 people, spread in the apartments just under and opposite us, who used to stick (and sit) together at all times, starting 8 o'clock in the morning with a joint two-hours breakfast and ending at about 23 o'clock in the night with "one for the road". So if you are sensitive and look for solitude, the view (of the street, mountains or sea) or a parking and if you easily get annoyed with continuous chat from the neighbors - this hotel might not be your thing. A bit claustrophobic in fact. If you are not affected by things like this then this will be a great choice, worth...
Read moreWe stayed on Mykonos, Santorini, and Samos. The island I most want to go back to is Samos because of where we stayed, Olympia Beach Hotel in Kokkari. Everything necessary to relax was close by, beach taverns, mini-marts, shops, car rentals, and so many wonderful restaurants. There is a very beautiful Greek Orthodox Church to visit. It turned a little windy for swimming and our hostess suggest we visit Pythagorio and Psili Ammos Beach. Bought a Pythagorion cup at the monastery and visited the cave church. The wind was less so we had a great swim and nap in the sun. We liked the beach so much we went a second time. Taking or hostess’s suggestion, we also visited the hill town of Manolete. We were able to get an idea of what the non-tourist Greece is like. This is somewhat of an artist colony with little cafes and Greeks walking around buying their bread and produce.||Our room was adequate size with a small balcony overlooking the beach, complete with a line to hang bathing suits. The sound of the waves moving through the pebbles was mesmerizing. Our bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good, with at least one fresh cooked item each morning. Our hostess always spoke quietly to her staff. She was very helpful arranging our taxi back to Vathi .||We...
Read moreBeautiful clean accommodation, friendly helpful informative staff, sweetest gardener bringing fresh flowers daily ,tending and watering the most amazing garden whe we often saw humming bird moths and lozards, and treating my daughter like a princess bringing her Bougainville and roses personally every day! ! Only a short walk to an amazing beach. The only downside was fellow visitors coming back late and drunk with children who should have been in bed, waking us up shouting and chasing each other late at night. We catered for ourselves in adequate cooking facilities but with so many amazing restaurants so close it seemed silly to do so after the second day.rooms spotless, cleaned daily we returned from the Bach daily to find nightclothes folded neatly and towels folded into the sweetest of animals and designs, particular attention my daughters ones.Couldn't be improved except perhaps making it clear to everyone that some people do sleep before midnight so to be respectful on way back to apartments even if you are drunk! It was certainly a small piece of heaven on earth and we didn't want to leave,in fact my daughter cried ! We may be back, started to...
