I was shocked by the reception that I got from the owners of this establishment upon walking in and talking with them, incredibly rude, unprofessional and arrogant. This behaviour is unacceptable for "hospitality professionals" or those who are trying to be.
I speak Greek as a second language (English being my first language and I thought it would be courteous to speak broken Greek to one of the owner's (a mature aged Greek lady in my broken Greek as a sign of respect to her and the Greek culture (I assume she is the owner's wife).
It was approximately 2pm on a Friday afternoon and I asked her if they served coffees and Greek style yogurt with fruits and nuts (a spend of approximately 12 Euros.) They lady told me she was busy and had work to do.
I told her that I was a "tourist" and had money to spend. The lady said she had a menu that she could show me. I was standing for about two minutes in front of the bar area waiting to be given a menu.
Her husband walked by and he ignored me when I asked him in broken Greek for a menu. When I started speaking to him in fluent English and asked him if this is how he treats all his customers, he gave me a menu.
By this stage I did not feel comfortable to sit down, given my negative experience with the owners and i politely put the menu down on the bar counter and walked out.
I have eaten at cafes and restaurants across Kokkari and have never had such a poor experience, other than at Crepe a la Greck Beach Creperie.
I do not feel these people are a good fit to work in hospitality or at least dealing with customers and should either attend further training on customer service basics 101 or find themselves a new means...
Read moreSadly most awful experience in an otherwise very quaint village. The owner of the restaurant displayed some questionable behavior.
The food was unfortunately tasting like dirty socks. I would guess it was very old and had expired. When we suggested the owner smell the food to see if it was perhaps not what he intended, he began screaming at our table.
After long stares from the chef at the women in our group, one of the dishes arrived with something I don’t want to describe but also with a human hair.
We didn’t feel comfortable. With so many other wonderful restaurants around, please don’t judge a village by this one bad apple.
This is honestly the first negative review of my life. The troublesome behavior of the owner deserves the warning to...
Read moreThis place is amazing! The beach beds are so comfy, and they even give you a free pitcher of water. The food is delicious, and the staff couldn’t be friendlier. We loved it so much that we ended up coming back five times .
The vibe is really relaxing, not loud at all, so you can just sit back, listen to the waves, and enjoy the view. We had the club sandwich and Greek salad, and both were fantastic. Huge thanks for the warm welcome and great service. We’ll...
