Hotel Mike — Hotel in Municipality of Epidaurus

This is a charming hotel, right on the waters edges with views across the bay from the restaurant the balconies. Rooms were clean and well serviced and had air con. It was one of the first hotels in the area and has photos of past resident Maria Callas. The food was excellent and the service fantastic too. The dive boat moores up in front and the dive shop is right next to the hotel, there are several beaches within walking distance. Perfect for sunrise swims and generally relaxed access to the beach and sea. You do not pay for sun umbrellas on the beach. This area is often used by locals coming from Athens (2 hours away) for the weekend so it is busy but not so busy with weekly holidays, making it a great combination of peaceful and buzzy. There is a great ice cream shop and bakery and a range of restaurants nearby, it is adjacent to the main square with other bars and restaurants and there is even a small ancient theatre within walking distance that also has productions sometimes, with the larger spectacular world heritage amphitheatre a short drive away. We stayed in this hotel while visiting the ancient theatre of Epidavros for a play. The theatre is a good 30-40 minutes drive, but we opted for Ancient Epidavros village as it is on the sea and we would stay for a long visit. ||||We arrived late in the evening by car and were worried about parking as it is a small village and the hotel is in the centre of the village. A little tip here: there is a church with a large yard just next to the hotel. There are parking spaces (albeit unofficial) and you can park there. We asked the hotel and they told us that its ok and indeed we did not have any issues throughout the stay. ||||The hotel is advertised as 2 stars and 2 stars it was. All the basics were there, the shower was ok, ACs working and the beds were typical for such accommodation in Greece. ||||Staff ok, although Mike himself was not very cheerful. Μολις φτασαμε στην περιοχη,πηγαμε στο ξενοδοχειο να ρωτησουμε αν εχει ελευθερα δωματια.Στη ρεσεψιον δεν υπηρχε κανεις απολυτως.Αφου πηγαμε στο εστιατοριο,ρωτησαμε και ενας σερβιτορος ανελαβε να μας δειξει ενα δωματιο.Η κατασταση του δωματιου μετρια γενικα και μας ειπε οτι η αρχικη τιμη ηταν 45 ευρω.Σε ερωτηση μας για καλυτερη τιμη,μας ειπε οτι μπορει να μας το δωσει τελικη τιμη 40 ευρω με πρωινο.Αποδεχτηκαμε αυτη την τιμη και πηραμε το δωματιο.Την πρωτη ωρα παραμονης,διαπιστωσαμε οτι ο κλιματισμος υπολειτουργουσε λογω προβληματος,και ετσι ειδοποιησαμε εναν σερβιτορο για το προβλημα,οπου και ο ιδιος το διαπιστωσε.Εκανε μια προσπαθεια να το φτιαξει αλλα δεν εγινε κατι.Μετα κατεβηκαμε να φαμε στην ταβερνα του ξενοδοχειου και παραλληλα μας ειπε ο σερβιτορος οτι επειδη δεν φιαχνεται μπορουσαμε να μετακομισουμε σε ενα αλλο δωματιο,αλλα ηταν στην πλαινη μερια χωρις καθολου θεα οποτε δεν το επιλεξαμε και αναγκαστηκαμε να παραμεινουμε στο αρχικο δωματιο με σχεδον ανυπαρκτο κλιματισμο.Να σημειωσουμε οτι ο σερβιτορος,οπως και οι υπολοιποι σερβιτοροι ηταν ευγενεστατοι και εξυπηρετικοι στο φαγητο μας στην ταβερνα του ξενοδοχειου.Την επομενη ημερα το πρωι φαγαμε πρωινο που ηταν σε γενικες γραμμες αποδεκτο για το επιπεδο του ξενοδοχειου χωρις προβληματα.Την ωρα της αναχωρησης μας,ζητησαμε τον λογαριασμο απο τον σερβιτορο που μας ειχε εξυπηρετησει και ρωτωντας την ιδιοκτητρια,του ειπε οτι ηταν 45 ευρω.Εμεις αναφεραμε οτι η συμφωνια που καναμε μτον αλλο σερβοτορο που μας το εδειξε ηταν για 40 ευρω,η ιδιοκτηρρια φωναζε με ασχημο και αγενη τροπο οτι δεν ισχυε κατι τετοιο.Ετσι αναγκαστηκαμε να πληρωσουμε τιμη που δεν ειχαμε συμφωνηει φυσικα και αναχωρησαμε. Αυτο ειναι εντελως απαραδεκτο και προσβλητικο,αφου ειχαμε κανει συμφωνια για αλλο ποσο.Προκειται για αντιεπαγγελματικη συμπεριφορα.Ν α σημειωσουμε οτι ρεσεψιον στην ουσια δεν υπηρχε καθολου,παρα μονο το εστιατοριο.Οι σερβιτοροι ηταν ευγενεστατα παιδια και το φαγητο στην ταβερνα καλο. Μονο η ιδιοκτητρια ηταν αγενης και δεν τηρησε την συμφωνια τιμης...
