Minivan dropped us at the top of a dirt pathway to trundle our heavy cases down to a gate where you are let in and shown to your apartment. This pathway is rutted with all the wheels from many cases traversing up and down the path and desperately needs paved or slabbed. The case wheels took a battering upon arrival and departure. The block we were allocated to is furthest away from the pool area, so be prepared to pull your case another good few hundred meters to get to this block, then you need to negotiate a flight of stairs hauling your own case up to the first floor area. One benefit which would be appreciated would be to have a strong person present to assist with getting cases up these stairs which have a tight turn. My husband took the suitcase of the single lady staying next door to up the stairs for her, there is no way she would have managed this herself.||The accommodation itself if very outdated. Sign at front states Norma's Village est. 1988 - the rooms are definitely in keeping with 1988. The walls internally and externally are rough concrete painted white. The bathroom/shower room is sub-standard. Wall and floor tiles all need pulled down and replaced. They are a disgusting shade of brown verging on dirty nappy colour. The shower constantly drips, so has to be turned off at switch high up on wall behind the shower head, otherwise you wont sleep due to constant dripping. I had to get my husband to reach this to turn off every evening. The hairdryer needs to be pulled out as all it does is puff at you and is of no benefit whatsoever. The balcony and furniture were good, in fact best thing about this accommodation is the balcony space and table and chairs. ||The pool bar area is modern and pleasant, having been recently upgraded, (money would have been better spent on the apartments) however the family sit around here and as soon as anyone approaches they stop talking which can be daunting and makes you feel like you are interrupting something. Greek barbecue night (12 Euros) on a Friday which is open to residents and non-residents. We didn't attend as we had other plans, but spoke to other guests we made friends with and they said it was adequate.||The accommodation is in desperate need of updating and modernisation. It is nowhere near the 3 star Greek standard we have experienced on other island holidays. I would give it 1.5...
Read moreNorma's Village is my favorite place in the world and I'll explain why! It is the people who make your experience and who make your trip great! We were greeted with a big smile from the owner upon arrival and shown our lovely room. We luckily came on a Thursday and were able to join their Friday Greek night, which was so fun! They have live Greek music, dancing, delicious food and beverages! What I liked most is that the staff danced along and sat at our table with us too! The family who owns Norma's Village knows all their guests by name and treat you like family. We are vegan and they were so kind to share their home cooking with us when they prepared foods we could eat. They cooked for themselves and a little extra for our family. If that is not the sweetest thing ever I don't know what is. I could go on and on but I'll close with one more factor that makes this place perfect. They have an incredible pool with a pool bar. Norma's daughter is the chef and she creates amazing dishes, from breakfast items to pizzas! It made our trip so convenient having this option. We would wake up and not have to think. We would order breakfast by the pool and enjoy the pool all day. They even have a safe play area for children which has plenty of activities for the little ones to enjoy. Thank you for an amazing experience, we...
