Ξενοδοχείο Ολύμπικ — Hotel in Municipality of Karpathos

A two star hotel in Greece is always a synonym of a modest standard and the Olympic hotel does not betrays expectations. The room furniture is really old and minimal. The bathrooms would gladly welcome a proper shower cabin with a shower tap hanging from the wall (mine had neither shower curtain nor cabin and I had to hold the shower tap with one hand, which meant that washing my hair was really difficult and the only way to minimize the flooding of the bathroom was that of having a shower with my back against the wall) and the breakfast really needs fresh fruit, as the canned one is so '80s style. The rooms are delivered clean and tidy, but during the stay the daily service could be improved. First of all, there is no cleaning service on Sundays, which is a bit strange in a holiday place, where hotels are open only part of the year... you'd expect the staff to work every day in order to make up for the part of the year when they don't work, as it happens on the Italian seaside resorts. Secondly, on the second day of my stay a bunch of my hair decided to gather on the floor, next to the bedside cabinet and it was happily left there until my departure. It kept me company every evening, greeted me every morning and I almost considered carrying it back home, but decided not to, in the end. I presume that the person that cleaned the room never swept the entire floor, but only part of it...||The positive assets of the hotel are these: very quite and conveniently located, as it is at 5 minutes walking distance from the town centre; the entire staff is super kind and super polite and they really make you feel in a family atmospere; there is a nice pool, for those that want to use it.||In other words, it's ok if you don't want to be pampered in a luxury accomodation and are ready to put up with the...

This was my third visit to the beautiful island of Karpathos. When I booked HoteI OLIMPIC I know that I will get HARD BED and NOISE refrigerator – and when I come to Hotel I was TOTALY RIGHT :) So I was prepared with earplugs.||||PROS AND CONS of Hotel OLIMPIC (see all pictures):||||PROS:||-Location – close to ALL (ATM, Shops, Restaurants, etc.)||-Peace and quiet!||-Budget Friendly||-Single Room with wide Bed, really cool!||||CONS:||-Terrible Mattress – you can feel everything inside it !!!! PLEASE REPLACE IT it is not so expensive!!!||-Terrible Bed – Bleep all the moves you make !||-REALLY OLD Refrigerator makes all the time desperately noises close to your head !!! PLEASE REPLACE IT it is not so expensive!!!||-TV did not work !!! lol !!! ||-VERY VERY BAD WIFI AND NO INSTRUCTIONS FOR IT!||-NO shower curtain – so you have completely wet bathroom !||-Siphons in the Bathroom are REALLY DIRTY! Apparently is Cleaning lady BLIND! Overall Cleanliness is VERY LOW !||-The old receptionist is strange, no welcome when you arrive or goodbye in the end, NO INFOS,very rustic! In fisrt day he offered me a better room for the second week, but in the end he forgot it!!! TERRIBEL – SO unprofessional!||-I'm young and it completely bothered me hyperactive staff at breakfast!! ||||Overall I was happy vith my 14 days Holiday, i came because of island and not because of Hotel. I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Olympic Hotel in Pigadia Karpathos and it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm welcome from the friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. The hotel itself is clean, and well-maintained, with spacious and comfortable rooms that are equipped with all the necessary amenities.

The location of the hotel is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the beach and close to many shops, restaurants, and attractions. The breakfast buffet was delicious, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options to choose from. The hotel also has a lovely swimming pool which is the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a day of exploring.

Overall, I had an amazing experience at the Olympic Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Pigadia Karpathos. The staff, facilities, and location are all top-notch and I cannot wait to return for another visit...
