Nice, modern hotel with helpful staff. The location can't be beat. Right in the middle of the upscale Kiffisia shopping and dining district and a 5 minute walk from the Subway that will take you right to the heart of Athens. It's my 1st time staying here but will be back. The rooms are small, but modern and have all the necessities. Breakfast is OK with a small balcony if you are lucky to snag one of the two tables on it.
As promised, I came back to the Des Roses with my wife and a friend and the hotel did not disappoint. The staff are excellent and the location cant be beat right in the middle of the vibrant Kiffisia shopping and entertainment district. The free parking at the front is hard to beat. Although there are only 5 spots available we always managed to snag one. Breakfast was as I remember, relatively basic but it covers all the basics. One quibble this time was with the washroom: The toilet seat appeared to be broken and the shower diverter did not work well, so only a bit of the water reached the shower head. I would still recommend this place based on the location,...
Read moreReally comfortable 3 night stay at the hotel, it's modern and set in a really affluent area.||The room although not massive was fine for 3 single beds and 3 guys sharing. Good sized bathroom with decent pressured shower. Towels were plentiful and restocked. TV with UK channels, air con, tea/coffee, a safe and plenty of storage. Nice touch with the balcony but you can't really see alot because of the trees below.||Breakfast was basic but had different continental choices.||Staff were always fine and said hello. Reception manned 24/7 so we left our keys with them when we went out. Bar with free water bottles. ||The area of the hotel is very nice, plenty of coffee shops a stones throw away, there's a supermarket in the same complex. For bars walk up the hill and there's 4/5, go Bronco bar for atmosphere, although everyone congragates in the street. ||Parking was limited, 7/8 bays, we had a mini bus pick us up, so didn't affect us, but unloading most times had to be in the road.||Overall a great stay. ||Overall...
Read moreI visit Athens at least once a year for business, and have been staying here for around 5 years now. It’s a little gem in a lovely suburb of Athens with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. You’re also less than 5 mins from a bug can rank, bus station and train station - which takes you to Piraeus, airport and downtown quite easily. ||The family who run the hotel are always friendly, and helpful. The hotel is fairly small, but rooms are more than adequate for the week, with a small desk, fridge, WiFi, hairdryer and tv. The bathrooms are variable, but I like the rooms above reception, which have balconies on the quieter side street, and get the sun in the morning, where it’s lovely to sit with a coffee. ||Although the hotel doesn’t do lunches or dinners, there’s so much variety nearby (including a supermarket next door!) that it’s no bother heading out, or even bringing something back. I feel very at home here, and it’s clean and safe - and perfectly adequate for...
