We have just returned from an 11 night stay at the Ikos Aria Hotel having previously stayed at The Ikos Dassoa and Olvia hotels. We booked this holiday through Jet2 and selected a Triple room with a sea view. We arrived at the hotel about 10.30pm however we still received the usual Ikos welcome with a glass of fizz and a friendly welcome chat with their reception staff. We were quickly fixed up on the Ikos and concierge apps with a brief explanation on the hotel facilities after which we were shown to our room where our luggage was already waiting for us. We were shown how to select room service in case we needed some food and drink and then we were left to unpack and relax before bed|In the morning we discovered we were on the top floor of the main building with a lovely sea view. The room was spacious with adequate storage and also had all the usual Ikos touches . |Having previously stayed at an Ikos hotel I knew to select the first three nights restaurants as well as prebooking the Tesla to ensure no disappointments. I also made sure after check in that I was quick to book the remaining nights restaurants . All this was done on the Ikos App which is easy and simple to use. This ensured that we were able to experience all the restaurants during our stay which was great.|We have to say when comparing this stay to the others this one was the best and we now have a dilemma on whether to come back to this hotel or try another. Talking to other guests you soon find out that most of them have tried a few Ikos Hotels and love what the Ikos brand has to offer.|The staff are simply fantastic. We found them all to be friendly ,chatty and of course efficient and well trained . On three separate occasions a member of staff came looking for us on the resort to ask us how we were finding our stay and if there was anything else they could do for us. I am terrible on remembering Greek names but the service we got from housekeeping to restaurant and bar service not forgetting the beach staff was all great.|Our room was serviced well every day and the bed was comfortable. I did find the pillows a bit too soft for my liking but that is a personal choice. The air conditioning could also be a bit strong so we did turn this down which meant the room could be warm at times but that again was a personal choice.|We tended to use Flavors for breakfast and the beach bar for a snack lunch and in the evening a different restaurant. Our favourite restaurant I would say was the Seasons restaurant however Ouzo and Provence were also outstanding. The other restaurants however are also of a high standard. In all cases the service was excellent and we also enjoyed the wine selections . |We used the beach area near the beach bar as we liked the availability of beds the quality of the sand and also the space between the beds was greater. One small point to make was that the entry to the sea could be problematic due to rocks however if you entered the sea near the public part of the beach there were no stones at all . I did notice some of the staff telling the hotel guests this but perhaps a sign directing the guests could be useful as I suspect there could be a few injuries . A special mention must go to the beach staff as they always helped you find a suitable bed and provided plenty towels and of course the great Ikos special treatment of sun glasses cleaning. |The Tesla hire is a great facility to offer and we were able to explore the island a bit having lunch up in the hills in Zia which has wonderful views and also some of the archeological sites. |We also used the hotels courtesy bus to Kos Town . This leaves the hotel at 9.30 returning at 3pm which was ample time to explore the town and have lunch|After dinner we tended just to have a drink in the lobby bar area . The service here again was excellent and we did not experience noisy children as others have mentioned. This is a difficult one as we recognise this could change from week to week. There is an option to use the bar at Seasons if that situation arose so we found no difficulty with the bar options.|We did not go on the boat trip or to the theatre so we cannot comment on the atmosphere or quality of entertainment|Overall we thought the hotel did provide value for money and roll on the next...
Read moreIkos Aria||Writing a review of IKos has always been fairly straightforward as it delivers a winning formula time and time again. Aria is no different. We have now been to all the Ikos locations and therefore feel fairly well positioned to comment on this one. So to start with you will see the 5 stars at the top of this review. This doesn’t mean it was perfect as there are always small things but overall it was excellent. ||Arrival was seamless and our room was ready (arrived at 2pm). Once checked in we headed to the main pool. Lots of free beds but no towel attendant and the box where they store towels was hard to open. The service was also slow and whilst the lady tried to get us a towel she couldn’t and went off to find a pool attendant. We sat on the first available beds but they sank badly and we were forced to move as they were in danger of hurting our backs. Not the greatest start we thought. That was however the only issue during our entire stay. Next day we went to the beach pool (not by the beach but just so named). Service here was outstanding, towels as required, drinks whenever you wanted and the friendliest service you could imagine. ||Food at Ikos is of course part of the reason for choosing the hotel group and again it didn’t disappoint . Anaya is great, the spicy beef really worth going back for, Kos restaurant also great and I would recommend the lamb which was again outstanding. Provence was also good as was Olivia (steak here was really good). The only disappointment was Fresco, the beef carpaccio was too thick and chewy, the chicken slightly over cooked and everything doused in lots of salt- might have been a bad night but of all the restaurants I would put this at the bottom of any list you may choose. ||The car hire is of course simple and I would say a trip to Kos is worthwhile. Lots to see and whilst nothing that will take too long you can go round the castle, visit Palm tree of hypocrites and Casa Romana which is an old Roman villa in a few hours You should also go to Asclepieion at Kos which is the first known hospital in the world and is a short drive outside Kos town. ||Ikos also offer you an evening cruise, not a huge amount to see but the captain is a character and will certainly try to make the hour and a half pass with some fun- if you like looking at rocks and nothing else this is an enjoyable short trip but personally I would give it a miss. ||Bars are all great and there is always entertainment somewhere. Strangely there is always something at Seasons restaurant but not always anything in main bar or Lagoon deck area which strikes me as strange. Also at Dacia and Porto Petro they had some entertainment at certain pools during the day which I think was a miss at Aria. ||Not that we had children they seem to be well catered for and certainly people I spoke to had nothing but praise. If you don’t like noise at the pool you can go to the adult only pool or sit at the adult end of the beach pool but certainly wasn’t an issue for us. ||Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our trip, service was great, staff always friendly, food mostly excellent. So now the final question, where would I rank Aria against all the other Ikos hotels. For sure it’s close to the top, Porto Petro is hard to beat but only because of the location, area and Island, on food and service Aria probably edges it. The other hotel that runs Aria close is Dacia (Corfu). The pools at Dacia and marginally better, the beach here has a good value boat rental allowing you to take a full day self drive to the top of the island of Corfu- not an Ikos offering but positioned to give the appearance. So these are my top three, which comes out on top I cant decide. However my final list is|1= Aria, Porto Petro and Dacia|4 Andulacia 5. Oceanan 6. Olivia. Those of you familiar will say I haven’t mentioned the other Ikos in Corfu / Dacia having been to Dacia twice and only having visited the latest hotel there i have considered similar to Dacia. ||I have now booked Crete for 2026 so let’s see if this changes the order. I hope this...
Read moreFirst of all just want to start off by saying WOW!!!! Ikos Aria was truly amazing and all the positive reviews you read are factually correct.
Just come back from 10 night stay in the beautiful Aria resort, family of 3 which was 2 adults and a 6 year old. For clarity we were deluxe so the review is based off my experience.
Is deluxe worth it?? Absolutely, if you're thinking of visiting and unsure whether the extra money is worth forking out on then I would tell you not to hesitate in booking it. From the moment we arrived at kos airport we were out the arrivals doors and straight into a private car to Aria which is about 15 minutes away. Upon arriving at Aria we were greeted by the hotel reception and the staff were just amazing from the start. Luggage was all taken care of whilst the staff grabbed our hand luggage and took us into reception. Check-in was super easy and well thought out. No standing around at desks waiting to check-in, you're seated down and given refreshments whilst they greet you and get you all checked in. Whilst this is happening in the background buggies are loaded with your cases ready to take you to your room. Once the quick and simple check-in is all done you're carted away to your room.
As mentioned at the start we were duluxe, so we were taken over to the otherside of the resort where the deluxe pool was and as you read with the package is only for duluxe paying customers.
The pools (1 small 0.3-0.6m and the main pool 0.3-1.3m) are perfect. Cleaned daily from about 8am and well maintained. As with all pools stones etc can end up at the bottom as lots of people walk round bare footed, so I would personally recommend pool shoes but this is not specific to here, I would recommend everywhere you go.
Sun beds are super comfy and every morning have a fresh towel waiting on them for you to use. You can also request extra towels throughout the day as when you need them.
Staff are absolutely fantastic around the duluxe pool. They work tirelessly to ensure your stay is super relaxed and whatever you need they will do for you.
Duluxe also comes with an adults only area within the duluxe lobby. As we had a 6 year old with us we didn't use this fully but you can go in for drinks and just relax as a family. You will also find seasons in here which does fantastic food breakfast, lunch and evening meal. Staff again are fantastic and I do have to mention Zuzi the bar manager, Valentin the mixologist and Thomas who is the duluxe supervisor. They made our daughters holiday extra special by just treating her as if she was an adult. I have never been anywhere before where all the staff within the hotel treat you with so much respect or bend over backwards to make your stay extra special.
Restaurants wise I couldn't recommend them enough. Again as deluxe you have the ability to book anywhere you want and as many times as you want, so again totally worth spending that extra to have this ability. I personally would recommend Ouzo, Anaya, Seasons and Fresco. Ouzo at lunch uses a BBQ to cook a variety of meat and fish. Not only does it do amazing food throughout the day but it also has an absolutely amazing view being on the sea front.
As we had a 6 year old with us we did use the kids club just to get her out the heat for a few hours. The club is ran fantastically and all the staff are super friendly and kind. Our daughter loved going and would of gone everyday had she not made so many wonderful freinds. Just want to mention here that everyone we had the pleasure of meeting just made our holiday even better. The kids all got on really well and it just made everything some much more memorable.
The kids club does offer a crazy couch ride which is an extra cost (we didn't do it in the end, as our daughter just wanted to the at the pool with friends). The kids are pulled along by a boat on an inflatable couch. We asked the club how this works and anyone can do it regardless of swimming ability as the kids...
