This hotel is amazing! So much better than expected. The rooms are spacious, with a nice outside sitting area, spacious bathroom with a rainshower behind glass wall. The breakfast buffet is amazing! With all fresh types of eggs, breads, fruits, veggies, desserts.. etc. This was honestly my favourite meal of the day, it was that good. Restaurant is also good for dinner if you dont want to go somewhere else. After finding out there si room service we prefered having the food in our room and sitting out in our private area with some drinks from the supermarket 😝 The staff is so kind and arranges everything you want - special food requests (I am pregnant and vegetarian so have quite some requestst), airport transfers, car rentals, day trip recommendations and even a complimentary yoga lesson. The location is great - there are two pools where you can spend the day (with pool service!) or 5-10 min walk down to the beach with many restaurants and supermarkets. The beach right below is nice but not very big, so we went to a beach bar and went into the sea a couple of times from there, this seemed to be a common practice there. The area is a great starting point for exploring Crete, near Heraklion, Bali and Retimnon, and many cool villages and beaches in between. Due to the steepness it is recommended to have a car if you want to be more mobile and go places. There is a bus to Heraklion in front of the hotel but we did not try it. We rented a car for a day from the hotel and stayed near the pool / down at the beach for the rest of our stay (total of 7days). This all being said we definately recomend visiting Irida! We would love to come back once our baby is born and can walk independently as I think there are too many stairs for us to have a care free stay with a newborn/baby. (There were people doing it but it seemed like a lot of work to push and cary). Compliments for the attention to detail in the hotel facilities and the staff making our holiday and babymoon this memorable and great.

The Agia Pelagia Beach is at a walking distance. We stayed in Room no. 34 and it was nice with basic stuff that we needed during our holiday. There was a Barbecue on a Sunday which was a great idea but not well executed. The food was cold and it was not well organised for example there were no arranged tables and chairs. The rooms have no WiFi and there is no International Channels on Television except BBC as indicated on their advertisements. BE WARNED: Watch out for your belongings and be vigilant! The cleaning ladies are real petty thieves. They don't steal the whole package but in bits and everyday. They stole our coffees, tea bags, tampons, nail polish remover, washing powder etc... Just lock in all your belongings while going out to your excursions or to the beach etc...

Got back today from a week at Irida hotel as a family with kids and grandparents. We took 3 rooms, 2 were large and right by the pool so that was great for the kids. The whole decor at the hotel is very clean and stylish which creates a peaceful atmosphere. The food was excellent : the breakfast is fresh and varied, we also ate at the pool bar lunch and sometimes dinner and enjoyed everything. The beach is a short walk from the hotel (a bit crowded and narrow). There are 2 pools which were mostly quiet and had lots of chilling area around. Most and for most I praise the lovely staff which were really friendly (waiters, maids, reception- literally everyone) who made us feel super comfortable and took care of whatever we needed. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed one night (9/28-9/29) in room #12 as we were going through the area and chose this hotel because we were impressed by the beautiful photos and great reviews. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The outside patio area is absolutely gorgeous. We dropped our bags in and left and didn’t return until late evening. We were able to get room service for dinner that was probably the best club sandwich I had eaten outside of my home country.

When we used the bathroom we noticed there was a mop and bucket left in the bathroom that was giving off an odor. No big deal, maybe the staff forgot it. It was after 12am when we finally went to bed and noticed that there was no blanket, only a sheet on the bed. I looked around the room for a blanket and couldn’t find one but I did find a drawer that had a dirty mask and wipe in it. I thought to call the office to ask for a blanket but realized that the reception hours were over so my husband and I woke up several times throughout the night either freezing or sweating and adjusted the air conditioner temperature each time. I was pretty upset about this because we both got horrible sleep and had a very busy day the next day.

The breakfast was delicious and beautifully laid out. When we took showers we realized what the mop was for. The shower was very small and nearly impossible to wash your body in while staying inside of the confines of the shower curtain. The shower curtain kept sticking to you while you kept bumping into some cord hanging from the ceiling and the faucet handles. The water from the shower got all over the bathroom floor and wet the dirty clothes I had on the floor. This appears to be a design flaw and not the fault of the staff. The drain on the bathroom floor was bent and kept coming out and was a tripping hazard.

Summary: We were disappointed in the condition of the bathroom and not having a blanket/comforter to sleep under at night.

We were impressed with the outside area, breakfast, and friendliness...
