I recently visited the Agia Pelagia area and I'd like to share my experience at "Taverna Zorbas." I must say, this place was incredibly welcoming and the best restaurant I've encountered in the area.
Upon arrival at Taverna Zorbas, I was greeted warmly with smiles. The staff was extremely professional and helpful throughout my visit. They went above and beyond to ensure that all guests felt welcomed and comfortable.
The food at the restaurant was heavenly. There was a wide selection of traditional Greek dishes made with fresh local ingredients. The portions were generous and bursting with flavor. The use of olive oil and herbs in the cuisine brought out authentic Greek tastes that were truly mouthwatering.
The ambiance created at Taverna Zorbas was special. The restaurant had a beautiful terrace that offered a stunning view of the sea. During dinner, I was able to enjoy the sunset while indulging in delicious food. The atmosphere was relaxed and cozy, creating the perfect environment for relaxation and savoring the cuisine.
The service at the restaurant was excellent. The waitstaff were always ready to assist and provide recommendations on menu choices. They were also attentive and ensured that all my needs were promptly met. I truly felt valued as a customer.
Overall, "Taverna Zorbas" deserves high praise. The restaurant offers delectable food, friendly service, and a wonderful atmosphere. It was definitely the best dining experience in the Agia Pelagia area. If you're traveling to this area, I highly recommend visiting...
Read moreThis was the 2nd time we visited the resturant in the space of a few days. The first time was quite decent, greek salad was fresh and fulfilling, grilled halumi was decent and the musaka I hear was not bad.
The 2nd time seemed to be a different place, greek salad was not fresh at all and the fetta was sour? In my opinion this would be classed as off, but the manager explained some weird and wonderful story about the supplier and that he used the same guy for decades and the fetta taste can vary?......hmmmmm so just because the supplier was trusted by them, meant it was impossible for their own handling processes that could have caused it to go off/sour?
As somewhat a foodie, I like to think I know when somthing is off, the fact they tried to justify it then bought another piece which tasted the same was outrageous. Everything we had on this day was just not up to par ( chewy and small swordfish portion) "microwave" aubergine in tomato sauce and cheese), the fetta fiasco just tipped it over the edge.
Customer service was below standard, the owner seems to not know what he was talking about and insisted you drink a shot of rhaki, maybe in hope you may forget about your food experience .....either way, we will not be going here again. Be careful fellow holiday-ers....plenty more places on the strip that are consistant and...
Read moreWe came to this restaurant twice during our 5-day stay at agia pelagia, which speaks to how much we liked this place!
The portions are generous, prices are reasonable, service is very friendly, and the view to the sea is amazing.
Most importantly, they make most of the dishes we tried superbly well!
Seafood spaghetti is probably the best I've ever had! A good variety of seafood piled up on the spaghetti, and the spaghetti was cooked perfectly, absorbing all flavors from the seafood, at exactly the texture I like.
Both the beef with onion and lamb stew are delicious. Very good quality meat melting in your mouth.
If I have to pick some flaws...
Some of the dishes are a bit too salty for my taste, especially the zucchini fries and the fish salad.
Fish (guild head sea bream) is very fresh but slightly overcooked, so not perfectly juicy.
Also I wish they served dessert instead of fruit at the end of the meal, like most the other restaurants in Crete. But that's complimentary so I can't...
