Absolutely fantastic food and quite literally the ONLY one of two restaurants you should go to for Greek food in Agia Pelagia.
Go somewhere else on the beach strip and, I promise you, the result will be worse food at the same price or possibly even more expensive. I've been in Agia Pelagia for two weeks now and, at this point, I only eat at mythos and the street food place on the hill if i want a cheaper eat.
As for why mythos shines:
the quality of the Greek food is higher than the rest of the city. There seems to be a higher level of culinary understanding. Everything from balance of flavors to quality of core ingredients
the meats are cooked to PERFECTION. The gyros are the best and most tender-yet-crunchy I've had in all of Greece after 3 trips.
if you get the dinner plates rather than meat-only dish, the value is fantastic. For just 1 euro extra you get a full plate with amazing rice, salad, and fries
service is excellent and they over deliver, serving you with fresh fruit and shots at the end of the meal (to be fair, most restaurants here do this)
As for what to avoid?
The foreign food, pizza, etc doesn't look great, just stick with the Greek classics and you'll have some of the best Greek food you'll get to enjoy in all of Greece.
What I'd recommend:
pork gyros main dish calamari main dish chicken souvlaki main...

We gave this restaurant three chances, and in two of them the owner’s behavior toward our family was unacceptable. On our first visit, when our 10-month-old baby screamed for a short while, the owner made his discomfort obvious. We let it slide. On the second visit, when the same thing happened again, I tried to speak with him privately. Instead of showing any professionalism, he attacked the situation by claiming our baby’s crying “ruined the ambience” and even criticized the baby himself—as if a 10-month-old should be expected to manage his emotions.
To make matters worse, when I attempted to have a respectful discussion, he refused to engage. Rather than stay and talk, he literally kept darting between tables, brushing me off with dismissive remarks. When I told him this experience would be reflected in a review, he made it clear he didn’t care.
This is not how a responsible or respectful business owner treats customers. Babies cry. It is normal and temporary. The real disturbance was not the baby, but the owner’s lack of empathy, courtesy, and basic respect. Whatever you think of the food, be aware that the atmosphere here is dictated not by your dining experience, but by the owner’s hostility...
Read moreWe absolutely love this restaurant! We spent a total of 2 weeks vacationing in Agia Pelagia and ate at this restaurant at least 7 or 8 times. Towards the beginning of our stay we tried a couple of other restaurants in the area before quickly realizing we had found a gem with Restaurant Mythos. Some of our favorite dishes: grilled octopus, grilled calamari, seafood platter, moussaka, greens, fried smelt. They also have a kid’s menu which my son ordered from every visit. His favorites were the spaghetti bolognese and the chicken nuggets (homemade, NOT frozen!). On several occasions our son would also order an extra meal “to go” so he could eat it later in the evening or the next day. The view from the restaurant is a bonus since it’s right along the beach. We usually spent 2-3 hours at dinner and after an hour or so our son would go down and play at the beach. Since we usually had a table at the front of the restaurant, we had a clear view of him the entire time he was at the beach. The owners are great and always treated us well. They went out of their way to be sweet to my son and would sometimes surprise him with an ice-cream cone. Restaurant Mythos will continue to be our go-to restaurant for all future visits to...
