ILION Air Host — Hotel in Municipality of Markopoulo Mesogaias

The apartment itself was clean and well-maintained inside; however, the surrounding environment was less than ideal, with a dilapidated building located directly behind and significant road traffic noise due to the unit’s location on the main street and insufficient sound insulation. Guests should be aware that an environmental fee of €8 in cash is required upon arrival—no cards or U.S. dollars are accepted—and failure to have the exact amount may result in being asked to visit an ATM, even at inconvenient hours such as 1 a.m. The hot water was lukewarm at best, making showers uncomfortable and unsuitable for children, who refused to bathe as a result. We spent two nights @ ILion on two separate occasions while transiting through Athens airport. Both experiences were great, Corina is a great host & the rooms were clean & well stocked with the essentials. On our last night stay we had the Orion suite which is essentially a full blown apartment with loads of room for a large family. It was just me & my wife & we had the whole place to ourselves! Great location! Off the main road and close to the airport. All amenities are right there from supermarkets to coffee shops and bakeries. We stayed for 3 nights and upon arrival the host was super nice and truly depicted the greek term filotimo. She had a kerasma out for us and explained where everything was and if we needed anything to contact her. I would definitely stay at Ilion again as it was clean, spacious,...
