I had been struggling to find affordable yet decent accommodation in Agia Anna during my island-hopping expedition around Greece. I stumbled across Birbas and it seemed to tick all the right boxes, though I knew it was further out from the resort centre than I'd hoped (I've stayed in the area before), which is the only real downside to this place.||||The local bus dropped me off next to the beach in Agia Anna. It was, as expected, an effort to walk to the hotel with my suitcase in tow and a heavy rucksack, but once I got to the hotel I was pleasantly surprised.||||My room was number 1 on the first floor, with a small but comfortable balcony looking west towards the sea. The room itself was a really good size and furnished to a lovely standard, certainly above average for its star rating and price. As an apartment/hotel, it also featured a kitchenette with all the amenities for self-catering: a kettle, small hob, utensils and plates/bowls/cups etc. The air-conditioning was decent and the beds were relatively comfortable.||||On arrival, the owner had even left a decent portion of homemade cake and a bottle of water in the fridge.||||During my 5-night stay, I never had any cause to complain. Everything worked as expected and the room was cleaned every couple of days, with bins emptied daily.||||I would definitely recommend this hotel, as I said at the beginning the only slight negative is the 15-minute walk along a fairly busy road to get to/from the beach and...
Read moreStaying at Hotel Birbas was an unforgettable experience that touched my heart in every way. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, but what truly made the difference was the incredible hospitality of Mrs. Katerina and her daughter, Ms. Iakovina. From the very first moment, I felt as if I were at home, surrounded by genuine kindness and care. One of the most delightful surprises was the homemade breakfast. Every single day it was different, thoughtfully prepared with traditional touches, and presented in the most charming way – in a basket placed in a small box outside the room. This thoughtful detail meant that we could enjoy it at our own pace, without being disturbed. It felt personal, creative, and so full of love. For anyone who cherishes nature, peace, and a true sense of relaxation, this is the perfect place to reconnect with serenity. It was a memory, an embrace, and a reminder of the beauty of genuine Greek hospitality. Thank you so much! See you...
Read moreI stayed for 4 nights and I wish I could have stayed longer! The staff are extremely nice and helpful. The room was spacious and with beautiful ocean view. The breakfast was homemade and brought to you every day. It is about 10-15 min walk from the beach and the bus stop but I enjoyed walking every morning. The location is very quiet and at night you can sit on your balcony and look at the stars! I would...
