This is more like 3.5 out of 5...
We stayed here on the 2nd part of the first week, so 2nd island out of 4. After all the extra day travelling, me being full of cold and losing my voice and busy in Santorini, we needed to relax.
The rooms had everything one needed, but the hotel actually only had us booked for 2 out of the 3 nights. So we had to move from our rather underground dark room, to one of the best size-wise, which whilst nice layout and an amazing view, didn't offer us anything much extra.
The mattresses were exceptionally hard in these rooms, although when we moved room, it was slightly softer. However they were clean and looked after, as was the areas around the hotel. The pool was good, a nice size, and pleasant to sit round, although not particularly busy.
Location-wise, this was noticeably the furthest out of all of the hotels we stayed in, and required a good 15min walk to the bus stop. However, we walked over the brow of the hill the first day to the beach behind us, Agios Prokopios, which was less windy. And kept on walking! Was lovely, went through Agios Anna, and down beach, was 6kms before having a dip, and then walking back! And then we got a lift with the gardener to the old town of Naxos before catching bus back.
The service was good, and the main concierge was helpful. We received welcome drinks on arrival, which was a nice touch. The food was good in the restaurant too, and breakfast had the largest choice we came across, although we weren't able to eat outside, which was a shame.
So all in all, whilst a pleasant enough stay, it just didn't hit me as being wonderful. Perhaps it was just a bit characterless and new, but otherwise OK.
The photos show the pool area by night, the view in 2nd and 3rd pics from the room we moved to, and the outside of that room and view! Not...
Read moreHard to find the right words to describe our stay in this lovely village hotel, which has nothing to be jealous from a 4 star hotel.!! I will try though to give a sense from my resent personal experience. First and most important, the personnel and the hotel manager were extremely kind, always helpfull and professional, with an exceptional customer service mood. The swimming pool is very clean, and the water quality and pH as required with no high levels of chlorine. The restaurant serves fantastic food with good prices, as well as the pool bar with a great variety of snacks (you should definitely try the juicy club sandwich with freshly cutten naxian fries). The room (standard with seaview) very beautifull and spacious for a family of three, with a large refrigerator/freezer, kitchenette with all amentities, wonderfull clean bathroom, smart TV, comfortable mattresses and more. I was really impressed about the cleaning of the room on a daily basis, changing of towels and bed sheets, even if not required. Great breakfast boufet with lots of savoury and sweet choices made from local products, for every taste and the automatic multi coffee machine brilliant. In general Naxos Magic Village is located in a quiet area with fantastic view, very close to Chora and Agios Prokopios that are both accessible in a very short distance by car, very well maintained facilities, beautiful gardens, tennis court, good residents mostly families and couples. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and i will visit again next year. Many special thanks to the hotel team that made us feel like home for all these 9 days! Mr. Petros, Apostolis, Alexandros, we are looking forward to seeing you again next year. In the meantime, keep up with all the good work you do in this...
Read moreAvoid as there are excellent other options . The hotel is about 10 minutes from main port and Hora. It has a feel of a B- class hotel, from the furniture to the little dry, East German reminding, soaps who crumble in your hand. There is a kitchenette, but no dish soap :( . Common , think things through. The shower is with a curtain of thin materials, letting all water out. Large groups of tourist , smoking on the breakfast steps , betraying that they are cater to “cow herds” of tourist , not upscale travelers. The painful track to the beach, will discover the worse rock , impenetrable lava formation. To add insult to injury, they put us in a donkey stable of room, while the ignorant and arrogant receptionist told us “is the best” . They had maybe 50% occupancy, and After a blackmail of €60 we were given the room that the picture was taken . There are amazing options in Naxos, hospitable people , why book with a hotel whose call center is even in Athens , and they don’t you Allow to reach reception? We had amazing luck in the Glyfada beach and hotel and restaurant.
On a positive note, the breakfast lady was incredibly good. Amazing service and great home made products. Is an individual effort, not a reflection of the terrible ownership or management.
Choose smart , avoid this B-...
