Where to start…. There was 6 of us staying in June. Upon arrival we were given keys for each room, meant to be 2 doubles and a twin. It ended up being 2 twins and a double. The double and one twin were ready for us, however the last twin was still being cleaned. The bar manager assured us it would be ready in 5 minutes. The 5 minutes ended up being 3 and a half hours, however he stuck to his story. Every time we asked it would be “5 minutes”, and just told us to sit by the pool and drink until it was ready. The vibe at the pool bar was NOT it. The music of choice was all modern pop/dance songs, no variety at all. Better yet it was all covers, no original music which leads me to believe they can’t play copyrighted music. Make of that what you will. Also take note: CASH ONLY. They don’t have the means to take card payments. The bar area itself and the pool was clean, as if it had recently been refurbished, which was a positive. That’s about where the positives end I’m afraid. When our room (26) was finally ready, we weren’t pleased. The bathroom door frame was rotten, light fittings with bare wires hanging from the ceiling, a foul odour outside due to the clogged drain and a broken wardrobe dumped out the front door full of chemicals and spare sheets/towels for the cleaners. After requesting another room, much to the dismay of the manager, we got settled in. Another of our rooms (22) had a pile of old mattresses dumped outside on the grass next to the cleaners hut, no shower curtain/door, and had a horrendous mosquito problem: the inverted light shades were giving them a place to live through the day. At night they would feast. After a night of hell we bought every mosquito repellent known to man. Eventually after a few days we managed to get them out, but not before we had been bit half to death. Due to there being no shower curtain water would flood the bathroom, so we had to use towels to mop it all up, which would cost us 3 towels every time we wanted a wash, which in the June heat was twice a day. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem but the room service ladies would only come round once every 2 or 3 days, and replace one scabby stained towel with another. Also, the braying on the door from house keeping at 08:30am each time was a nice touch(!) At night after a day of exploring the island we liked to sit on the balcony and enjoy a drink in relatively relaxing silence, however this wasn’t always possible as the blaring music and dance beats from the bar were all you could hear. That and the racist views and beliefs of other customers who weren’t shy about letting their voice be heard. Thankfully we have been to Corfu many times so know a lot of places to eat and go through the day, so we only had to stay here at night. The lead booker wasn’t happy with the experience however and got in contact with the Jet 2 rep about the situation. They in turn got in touch with the manager who came to apologise, and offered us a €20 bar voucher for our troubles. We refused. A rare positive from our trip is we took into our care a lovely cat that wandered about the place we named Daphne. We would feed her proper cat food and cat friendly milk and we became very close with her. Since our stay I have learned that the usual full time managers/owners are away on their own holiday, so I can’t say what Kamari apartments would be like with them there, but the staff they have to fill in for them clearly aren’t up to the task. We all love Corfu and plan to go back ASAP, but if Kamari Apartments was the only place to stay on this island, we would never return.

Ok , we’ve been twice and it is what it is . Book direct and it’s £30 a night and for that it’s safe and clean and friendly. Yes there are cats and dogs wondering around but I did eat there and was not I’ll. Eva who runs it does not own it and just rents the place , they have to make money to keep going. Location is good. Drinks are good but same price as in town. Food is basic and maybe from a microwave and the same price as town. They are help full and do try. Taxis in peak season are a nightmare in roda full stop. Pool is a good size and plenty of sun beds. All staff are friendly. Never used the facility’s in the room. Aircon extra but worth it. Leave the plug in the kitchen sink or the room will smell. Towels only changed every 3rd day. Small place so all guests friendly to each other and generally chatty. Hope this helps

We arrived here late on Monday for a week at Kamari Apartments. We were immediately greeted by the lovely Eva and one of her staff members, Georgia, and they made us feel so welcome 🙂 We're staying in a one bedroom apartment - basic but clean and comfortable with everything you might need (except, maybe, a toaster). The grounds and views are spectacular, with a fabulous pool and plenty of sunbeds, along with a bar serving drinks and snacks. The beach is about 5 minutes away, and Acharavi centre is roughly 15 minutes walk from here. It is a fabulously peaceful location although may be not for you if you don't love animals - we do!

We had a lovely holiday and the bar staff were nice, they have a raw deal really as they have to try and help customers with room issues too, which isn’t their role.||Bar and Pool|- great, friendly, reasonably priced |- pool nice but dyed clothes green|- no issues getting a sun bed but did have a close call catching my head on a rusty spike from the sun shade|- pool table for 1 euro per game|- it stays open late but didn’t disturb us||Location|- fabulous, turn left out of Kamari and within a few mins walk you are at the the sea, fabulous sunset and restaurants (can also walk into Roda in twenty mins if you go left at the sea)||Apartments |- 1 bed apartment was a good size|- beds are hard|- 1 old pillow allocated per person that offers little support|- sheets very old|- the two beds in the kitchen room only have net curtains, so as soon as the sun rises that area is really bright, the other bedroom did stay dark with a curtain and shutters to the balcony|- fridge- kept things cold but missing shelves|- air con- was broken on arrival but fixed within a few hours and worked well|- safe and drawers were fitted upside down/back to front|- Cleaning- WHAT CLEANING? Had to ask for our bins to be emptied and clean towels after 4 days/ which was done within a few hours but that was the only visit from a cleaner. |- hot water - we had 2 days out of 7 when the water wasn’t hot for showers ,once when water was off completely and once when we left it til 7.30pm for a shower|- woken by what I presume were birds on the roof everyday sounding like they were practicing an Irish dancing routine!! ||If you set your expectations appropriately and get a good deal, then this is a lovely place for a holiday, if you can accept...
