Giakoumakis Villa — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

We spent two wonderful weeks at Giakoumakis Villa in Rethymno with a group of 8 adults and honestly, it exceeded every expectation we had. The villa is incredibly spacious —easily large enough to accommodate 10 people in complete comfort. The layout is well thought out, offering plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. There are numerous seating areas, both indoors and outdoors, which meant we were never on top of each other and could enjoy meals, chats, or quiet time with amazing views all around us. The games room was brilliant when you wanted to spend some time indoors away from the sun and the gym area was adequate enough for a holiday.

From the very beginning, communication with the host, Nikos was outstanding. He was helpful, responsive and accommodating, assisting with all aspects of the booking and even arranging our transfers to and from the villa. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by his brother George, who was an absolute gem throughout our stay — always contactable, helpful and genuinely kind. It was clear that they take pride in offering a high standard of hospitality and the family’s involvement made our experience feel personal and welcoming.

The villa itself is stunning. It is impeccably clean, tastefully decorated and extremely well maintained. The beds were very comfortable and every bedroom felt private and well-appointed.

The entire property is set within immaculate grounds, with lush greenery that creates a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The pool is one of the largest and best we’ve had at any rental property and it became the heart of our stay — perfect for morning swims, lazy afternoons, fun and games, aswell as sunset dips.

The villa was professionally cleaned every three days by a lovely, polite and very thorough cleaning lady. It was such a treat to have everything spotless and refreshed. It’s clear that attention to detail is a priority here and it really shows in every aspect of the property.

One of the standout features of this villa is the view - absolutely breathtaking. Whether you’re lounging on a sunbed, enjoying a meal on the terrace, or simply waking up in the morning, you’re constantly reminded that you’re in a very special place. The surrounding landscape is peaceful and yet you're only a short drive from the charming Rethymno town, beaches, shops and restaurants. George was brilliant in giving us advice on food deliveries, taxis, beaches and supermarkets.

We have stayed in many villas over the years, but Giakoumakis Villa has easily been the best experience so far. The combination of the villa’s size, the pool, surroundings, comfort, views, cleanliness and exceptional hospitality from Nikos and George truly made this a dream holiday for us. We honestly didn’t want to leave. We will 100% return and we recommend this villa without hesitation to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing and unforgettable...

We had an excellent stay at Giakoumakis Villa. The property is very comfortable, spacious, and located in a quiet area, yet with easy access to the highway and only a short 6-minute drive from the city center.
