We almost started regretting our choice when we entered this tavern. Younger guys at the entrance didn't strike as warm and welcoming, but then the lady came to us, and we felt welcomed. We ordered Klimataria salad, which is, according to description, similar to Greek salad, but with some extras (like salad leaves and sundried tomato). Read moreWe stumbled upon this place and it turned out to be the best meal we’ve had in Greece so far! The food was incredible l. Every dish was rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with love. From the tender tsigariasto lamb to the perfectly spiced melt-in-your-mouth moussaka, everything tasted authentically Cretan and deeply comforting.
You can tell this is true home-style cooking. The appetizers, stuffed vine leaves, was absolutely amazing.
The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the service was equally wonderful. The restaurant owner and his family were friendly, attentive, and passionate about their food.
If you’re looking for real Cretan cuisine, this place is a must. Hands down, the most memorable meal we’ve...

Family owned restaurant that serves fresh baked bread hot from the oven, stuffed snails, stuffed vines, dakos, and many more delicious items. The owner and his wife extended their kindness, warmth, and knowledge of Cretan food, enhancing our overall experience and impression of Crete. They even provided us recommendations of places to try in Athens, which was our next stop. This restaurant was something we spotted while driving and stopping in was one of the best decisions we made on our trip. Thank you for your hospitality! -...
