Omiros Boutique Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Rethymnon

Such a nice, clean, modern, cosy boutique hotel! We stayed here 5 nights in July 2020. The hotel is located on the east side of Rethymnon (on the side of Heraklion) and if you want to visit the centre of the city it's really recommendable to have your own rent car of motorcycle. You can take this really nice "boulevard road" to the old centre (about 5-10 minutes). But to walk there is too far! So you should be aware of this. Because we have a rent car, for us it was no problem. The main advantage of this is, that you have a very quit neighborhood and beach as well on this side of Rethymnon. We visited the more or less private beach of the Odyssia hotel, which is a 2 minute walk from the Omiros Hotel. The hotels have the same owner, so you are allowed to use their facilities as well. And their facilities are just as good as in the Omiros hotel! As very nice, well decorated area with bar, restaurant and swimming pools. Their terrace reaches until the beach. You can easily walk from this terrace area to the beach and back! For guests of the Omiros hotel sun beds on the beach are free as well! You can rent a towel every day for only €1,-. The staff in both hotels are super friendly, and not in a submissive way. They are just relaxed and happy to work here and dare to talk to you in a very casual way. I really liked this. The rooms in the Omiros Hotel are just Wonderfull. We took this "Boho Style" room and it was lovely! The complete atmosphere. The small swimming pool of the Omiros hotel is good for a quick refreshment or to drink a cocktail in the afternoon. It's too small to spend your day completely here. There are no sun beds. But because of the combination with Odyssia Hotel, this is no problem at all. The breakfast in the hotel was very good too, with European and Greek products. I really enjoyed the Greek Yoghurt with honey! ||||Conclusion: this hotel is highly recommended for a short stay! One of the best hotels I’ve ever been too! We were there is off season, so the price was only €50, which included breakfast. The experience was amazing from start to finish. The hotel was clean and the decor was super creative (a great opportunity for those hotel photos). There was a luxury pool area which was all decorated with lights (so was the rest of the hotel). The room was spacious and clean. It was modern and had traditional Greek vibes to it. The staff was super friendly and explained everything in detail. There is dedicated parking at the hotel and when the spots fill up there, they also have additional parking just around the corner. Breakfast was THE BEST I’ve had so far out of all hotels I’ve been to. Only a couple other places in Greece were comparable. If you’re from the USA, you’ll definitely be amazed at the variety of choices, as we don’t get much variety in most American hotels. They offered freshly squeezed orange juice, prepared special omelette for us and had a buffet with a bunch of tasty choices (too many to list, but in addition to all the cool Greek specialties they also had the “regular” things like fruits, yogurt, pastries, cold cuts and cereal). Schönes, kleines, gemütliches Hotel

Hotelanlage: Das Hotel selbst ist relativ klein, was dem ganzen aber einen gewissen Charme verleiht. Es ist nicht so überlaufen wie die großen Pauschalhotels. Gleichzeitig kann aber auch die Anlage des Partnerhotels Odyssia Beach nutzen und hat so das volle Angebot eines großen Hotels. Dort kann man (im Gegensatz zu den Gästen dort) die Liegen am Strand kostenfrei nutzen. Und man hat so auch den Vorteil den Hotelshop zu nutzen (denn die Promenade liegt weiter im Westen von Rethymno) und man hat Zugang zu den Sanitäranlagen in Strandnähe. Besonders schön ist auch der Jacuzzi auf dem Dach des Hotels. Schade ist bloß, dass er kostenpflichtig ist, auch wenn 10€/40min/2 Pers. sicherlich immernoch günstiger ist als sich selbst einen zu bauen.

Lage: Das Hotel selbst liegt am Rand von Rethymnon, was aber den Vorteil hat, dass es am Strand nicht so überlaufen ist. Das Partnerhotel ist in wenigen Gehminuten leicht erreichbar. Die teilweise kristisierte Parkplatzsituation kann nicht bestätigt werden, daa Omiros verfügt über ausreichend Parkplätze für Mietwagen (und diese sollte man für die Erkundung der schönen Insel unbedingt nutzen!)

Zimmer: Die Zimmer sind schön und modern und sehen genau so aus wie auf der Hotelwebsite. Die Klimaanlagen sind nicht nur reine Deko (wie man es häufig aus größeren Hotels kennt) sondern sorgen für angenehme klimatische Verhältnisse auch im Sommer. Insgesamt sind die Zimmer uich sauber. Sie haben einen Balkon Richtung Pool, der nachts mit dutzenden kleinen Lichtern zum Funkeln gebracht wird; traumhaft schön!

Essen: FRÜHSTÜCK gibt es im Omiros Hotel im Essbereich neben der Loppy. Das Buffet ist zwar nur ca. 3m lang, was für die Größe des Hotels aber vollkommen ausreicht. Von frischem Brot, Kuchen, Croissants, Omlett und andere Variationen mit Eiern und Speck bis zum griechischen Joghurt bietet das Frühstück alles was das Herz begehrt in sehr guter Qualität. Kaffee und Kaffeespezialitäten werden frisch vom freundlichen Hotelpersonal aufgebrüht und serviert. Rundherum sorgte das Frühstück im Omiros Hotel für den perfekten Start in den Tag, auch deshalb, weil man wahlweise auch direkt am ebenerdigen Pool frühstücken kann. ABENDESSEN hingegen findet im Odyssia Hotel statt. Diese Tatsache war uns bei der Buchung hingegen unbekannt. An sich ist dies nicht negativ, denn das Partnerhotel ist wesentlich größer und das Abendbuffet somit wesentlich umfangreicher. Allerdings hat das Odyssia nur 3 Sterne, was sich in der Qualität leider zeigt. Das Essen ist qualitativ höchstens durchschnittlich und auf Masse ausgelegt. Das Essen selbst ist leider fast immer lauwarm odee kalt, auch wenn es frisch aus der Küche kommt. Auf diese Kritik reagiert das Personal des Odyssia jedoch wenig gastfreundlich, sondern man wird auf das andere Restaurant im Odyssia verwiesen (es verfügt nämlich über 2 Restaurants mit je 3 Gerichten am Abend). Aber auch dort was das Essen leider kalt. Allerdings entschädigt der Ausblick beim Abendessen direkt am Strand während des Sonnenuntergangs dies ein wenig. Bei HP kostet dann ein großes Bier hier 3,50€, was wohl angemessen ist. Dennoch ist das Abendessen (!) wohl der größte Kritikpunkt. Hier sollte das Odyssia den Standards des Omiros gerecht werden! (Die 5*-Bewertung ist daher ohne die Bewertung des Abendessens, welches zum Odyssia gehört. Hierfür gäbe es wohl nur max. 3 Sterne)

Service: Das Personal in beiden Hotels ist eigentlich sehr freundlich (abgesehen von der Kritikunfähigkeit beim kalten Abendessen im Odyssia). Kleine Probleme wurden sofort behoben und man war immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Großes Lob und Dank an die netten Damen vom Omiros Boutique Hotel! :)
