BEWARE THE ROOMS KNOWN AS THE "IKONES SUITES" WHEN BOOKING ON THE HOTEL WEBSITE. The room is described as having several amenities most notably its 40 sq meters. In fact, it is closer to 25-30 sq m. We were told that one room in the hotel matches the description and photos on the website but all other rooms in this category were in fact smaller. Therefore, 90% of the time, you won't receive the room as described. We had forgotten to double check our reservation and only realized during our second day. The hotel staff are generally quite nice but I can't say that I appreciated being told that we should have mentioned something upon arrival. That may be true but the onus should not be on the customer....they should simply be truthful and up front. I found the same complaint in a review from one year ago, so they have been aware of this for some time.
The breakfast buffet was quite nice. A dinner buffet is included in the price and we opted for it on one evening, but given the amazingly good restaurants in town, we don't know why you would choose to eat their mostly average food.
The hotel location is very suitable if you intend to spend most of your time on the beach. Otherwise, it's a 40 minute walk in the hot sun to get into town ( or a 10€ taxi ride).
If the website accurately described the room category, we would have opted for the Superior room with a seaview and saved ourselves...
Read moreRoom cleaning was super friendly and deserves 5 stars. The hotel design is modern and appealing – but that’s where the positives end.
Loud beach music made it hard to relax, and the evening entertainment was so loud you could hear it clearly from the rooms. The road in front is very busy and adds to the noise.
Service was disappointing throughout: We often had to wait for drinks both in the morning and in the evening. Sometimes, we had already been to the buffet twice before the drinks arrived. One morning, I didn’t get my coffee until 30 minutes later – by then, I had already finished my breakfast. Juices weren’t refilled unless asked, and staff often seemed annoyed. At the beach, service was chaotic – one day we were overcharged €6 despite giving our room number, and had to remind them the next day to fix it. Which we didn’t because it was our last day.
Between 7–8 PM we had recurring water outages – no running water in the shower or sink for 10–15 minutes at a time. Completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel.
The food was poor: overcooked pasta, salty potatoes, barely any variety. If you can’t serve proper decaf, don’t offer it. We stopped complaining because it honestly got worse every day. We’ve stayed in several 5-star hotels on Greek islands, and sadly this was by...
Read moreMy husband and I visited the place in May for his birthday. The island itself is very beautiful so I don't think much needs to be said about the ocean itself.
Location: The hotel was right infront of the beach which was convenient. However there was a main road diving the hotel from the beach for which I have given a 4 rating in terms of location. Otherwise the place is quite lovely and very close to the city centre.
Food: Amazing. We had breakfast and dinner included with our reservation and we loved every single dish that was served. The buffet was lavish with interesting dish selection. My husband's favourite was this baked bread stick with spinach and sun dried tomatoes. Bounissimo.
Service: Impeccable. From the reception staff to the restaurant servers to the cleaning ladies. Very polite and kind I must say. My husband loves his red bull during breakfast, which usually is not an item on the menu. First they would wonder at the request and a short while later, viola. They also got him a birthday cake and a complementary bottle of wine. We received a small bottle of olive oil as a going away present as well. Special mention to the fellas at the beach, serving drinks at extreme temperatures. Despite the rush, they were friendly and...
