(long story short: 3 star hotel for undemanding, we get poisoned by food, have cockroach in room, drinks are undrinkable). We've been on Rodos for the first time, but it was the worst holiday experience ever, because of the Porto Angeli hotel. I will be very detailed because it's for sure not a 5 star experience. First impression is nice, the common area is clean, there are many pools so it's not so crowded. At least in May. But you will not always find a free sunbed, people used to reserve it early in the morning. Never had a problem finding sunbeds on the beach, but there is no area for the smokers so you can be surrendered by them. Location is very nice, sand is not gold, much more dark, also mixed with stones, but it makes it 2 in 1, more fun for youngest. The family room with sea view is disappointing. The view is mostly on solar panels and boilers on the roof of the closer building. It's a rather mountain view, but it's ok, because they are really nice. Why in the FAMILY room there are two single beds? There is a big gap between them and they are moving constantly. Also the mattress quality is low, we didn't sleep well at least one night. Washbasin is outside the toilet... First time seeing such a revolutionary solution, what I can say is that it's not working at all. You will put your kids asleep and after that all teeth brushing, hand washing etc you will do with your soul on your arm ;) only soap, no shower gel, no shampoo, no ventilation in the toilet. It's absolutely to easy to open door from inside. You can lock the door but even after that it's enough to grab the handle and open doors. Completely ill-considered solution when child beds are directly close to these doors, and you have room on the second floor. Room should be renovated and finished with more pietism. Food and drinks. Taste of food is ok, I would rate it for 4/5 but it doesn't matter, because herbs are only hiding that it's not fresh. I read bad reviews before we arrived but it was too late to change anything. Unfortunately they were true, we got poisoned after one dinner (didn't eat even once outside the hotel), I was vomiting all night but after that I feel better. Our child wasn't so lucky, she was vomiting whole day and they after. We've been told on reception desk that this is because some tourist have a virus. Strange that when I stopped eating at their restaurant I started to feel better immediately. Finally we met with medical doctor because situation of our kid wasn't look good. Situation for now is that she is vomiting fourth day. Thank you very much! On the end of the day - what is the difference of old food or virus in hotel which cannot be solved from weeks? I talked on airport with people from other hotels and didn't have such experience. Drinks are terrible, juice is only on breakfast and it's not fresh, it's from carton. After breakfast there is nothing healthy to drink except water or tea, all drinks are very sweet. I also don't understand why for example semolina or oat flakes are already sweetened? This is something you can easily do on your own... Coffee is... No it's not a coffee, it tastes like instant. Should hire another person to make omelettes, because it looks to much time. And icing on the cake - one night we found an extremely big cockroach, evidence attached. Would I recommend? I recommend you forget about this hotel. Why I wrote so much about 1 star? Because I saw many people from staff who work hard and be very friendly, but sorry, I cannot give nothing more for so bad experiences.

Let's begin with the good: This hotel is in a beautiful location and the views from virtually every point in the hotel are beautiful. The mattress in our room was superb šŸ‘Œ- memory foam but not hot. Check in was a friendly but lengthy affair. Maria in the main restaurant was so gracious and hospitable. Konstantin in the sales department pre-arrival was very helpful and kind. The not so good: Our air conditioner did not work. We had 2 visits from maintenance, one that got it slowly blowing, but it never actually got cool in the room. The 2nd visit there wasn't even the pretense of working on it, the maintenance man just held up his hand and said give it time. As a result of the ongoing warmth in the room, we found ourselves drinking much more water and requested an extra bottle but were told no, one liter per room (nevermind the number of guests in each room) was the standard and we would just need to deal. Two days of negotiations back and forth and an escalation to the manager and we were able to get a 2nd bottle of water on the condition we didn't drink any of the sodas in the "mini bar" refrigerator. The mosquitoes were intense. Despite hunting them nightly, we kept finding more and more bites every morning. Housekeeping left the doors open while cleaning, allowing more to find their way in every day. Haphazardly applied covid protocols. Guests were asked to wear gloves at the buffet, but there were only 3 hand sanitizer stations rather than putting a bottle at each table. Masks were frequently worn below the nose by team members and guests alike and there were no attempts to limit capacity or mainten distance in the restaurant, which was enclosed. Oddly, they did enforce a 2m minimum distance at the beach, which meant there were not enough lounge chairs for most guests to enjoy. Pre-departure Covid testing at the hotel was easy to schedule but failed to take any distancing measures and didn't even bother to wipe down surfaces between guests being tested. Definitely recommend doing all you can to be the 1st to get tested because otherwise you may end up getting it from the testing location. Finally, if you have food allergies, I recommend staying elsewhere. Despite having a sign posted that they are careful with allergens, many of the food options didn't have signs posted indicating what they were (much less having allergens indicated) and there was a lot of cross contamination from diners using utensils and serving spoons to move allergens around on their plate before touching other food again.

Porto Angeli is advertised as 5* hotel. The truth is there are few small missing things to reach continental five stars standard BUT this hotel is even more - this hotel is 6* class hospitality personnel who made our holiday outstanding. Solving all the problems reservations manager - Manolis , professional and very helpful receptionists, hard working kitchen staff and always smiling waitress and waiters, lovely room maids and all bartenders. This hotel has all facilities: gym, two swimming pools - one with the bar, spa, two restaurants but only one available in all inclusive option, top hill rooms with private pools. Hotel's beach is just cross the road distance - free sunbeds. We had nice room with the sea view balcony, fridge, 2 + 1 beds, air conditioning, hair dryer etc. In the bathroom there are only soup/shower gel disposers so if you would like to use shampoo or conditioner - bring your own. Everything else: iron and iron board, polish remover, toothpaste, toothbrush etc you can have from the reception. Atmosphere is fantastic. Hotel provides cars quads and scooters rental. There is also business corner, cinema room , kids playground, souvenir shop and lot of activities. In the village: few shops, tavernas and restaurants.Food is very tasty, breakfast very repetitive but lunches and dinners with different themes just gorgeous. On the end of the season we had lovely beach party with sky lights. ĪµĻ…Ļ‡Ī±ĻĪ¹ĻƒĻ„ĻŽ!

A Wonderful Stay at Porto Angeli Beach Resort - A True Oasis in Rhodes. I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Porto Angeli Beach Resort in Rhodes for a truly unforgettable vacation. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the stunning beauty of the resort and the warm welcome I received from the staff. Throughout my 10-day stay, I experienced exceptional cleanliness, outstanding service, and the genuine kindness and warmth of the entire team.

First and foremost, I must commend the resort's impeccable cleanliness. The rooms were flawlessly maintained, and the housekeeping staff paid meticulous attention to detail. It was evident that cleanliness and hygiene were top priorities for the resort, and this greatly contributed to the overall comfort of my stay.

The service at Porto Angeli Beach Resort was simply outstanding. The staff members went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was enjoyable. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions or accommodating special requests, they were always attentive and responsive. I would like to express my gratitude to Chris and Chrysoula from the pool bar, who greeted me with warm smiles and served me with exceptional care and attention. Their friendly and enthusiastic nature truly made me feel at home. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Antonia from the service team for her attentiveness and efficiency. Her professionalism and willingness to assist were truly remarkable. Hostess Agnes also deserves special mention for her warm hospitality and making sure that every guest felt valued and well taken care of.

What truly sets Porto Angeli Beach Resort apart is the genuine friendliness and heartfelt hospitality of the entire staff. From the moment I stepped foot in the resort until the day of my departure, I was met with smiles, kind gestures, and a level of warmth that made me feel like a valued guest and not just a visitor. This level of personal attention made my stay truly memorable and created a sense of belonging that I will cherish for a long time.

In addition to the exceptional service, the resort itself is a true oasis. The beautiful surroundings, lush gardens, and stunning views of the sea created a serene and peaceful ambiance. The amenities, including the pool area and the beach, were meticulously maintained and offered a perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation.

In conclusion, my 10-day stay at Porto Angeli Beach Resort was an absolute delight. The impeccable cleanliness, outstanding service, and the genuine friendliness and warmth of the staff, particularly Chris and Chrysoula from the pool bar, Antonia from the service team, and Hostess Agnes, made it an unforgettable experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a tranquil and rejuvenating getaway in Rhodes. It truly exceeded my expectations, and I cannot wait to return...
