Marianthi Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Rhodes

My husband and I stayed here in 2018 and had a lovely time . We stayed in a studio that was basic and dated but it was comfortable and fairly clean and it was cheap and we had the loveliest guy called Greg who managed the place looking after us so we were happy .||||We returned this year and as it was a special occasion I paid a lot more for an apartment in the new block ( Greg had showed us them the year before ) I thought what we would get would be a far superior and cleaner and newer room than the one we had the year before . Unfortunately because all of the rooms are not cleaned properly and there is no maintenance or upkeep the new rooms which are only a few years old now look like the old ones . ||||Our room was on the ground floor next to some private accommodation that looks like a house , there was a constant stream of people day and night going in and out and making deliveries and it was really scruffy with all kinds of rubbish outside . The outside seating area outside our room was used by the maids for all the washing, cleaning products and rubbish , it was awful . (See pics ) ||||After two days we asked for our room to be cleaned as it hadn’t been touched and the bins were full , this took another two days before it was cleaned , all the maid did was empty the bins and replace the towels . Our room wasn’t actually cleaned or the beds changed during our whole stay .||||The most disappointing thing for us though was that Greg wasn’t there , Greg was a really lovely man and nothing was too much trouble , he made that place what it was . The guy who’s replaced him is really horrible and unhelpful to the point of being nasty if you have a problem . We asked if we could keep the room on on the last day as we had a late flight and he wanted to charge us €40 for the afternoon ! It’s only €13 a night for a room here ! When I asked did they have a shower room we could use instead he told me to use the outdoor shower by the swimming pool and get changed there ! ||||Needless to say we won’t be...

Stayed during September for 2 weeks self catering.|Our room was an upper floor studio in block 4 with excellent views of the bay, mountains and Pefkos. It was clean and reasonably well maintained.|The air conditioning unit appeared to be relatively new, although we didn’t have the air con as there was reasonably air flow through the studio with the ventilated balcony door shutter down and the small side window open. We were advised the cost of the air con was 10 euros per day. |A safe was provided in the room for 10 euros per week. |The studio was cleaned daily, except Sunday,to a satisfactory standard. Towels would be changed when required if left in the bathtub. There were a few occasions where the clean towels we received had visible brown stains, although were changed the following day. Clean sheets were provided twice weekly.|Staff: Generally the facilities were managed by Yannis and his brother Dimitri who dealt with customer queries and worked the bar. They were both characters and in particular Yannis who often joined us and our friends in conversation when he wasn’t busy. Pablo the cook made some lovely food from the menu provided.|Location: Close to the centre of Pefkos where there are a few mini markets and several lovely restaurants and bars. Beaches were about a 20 minute stroll away.|Pool: Large pool and small kids pool with plenty of comfy padded loungers available, never had to be up early to get loungers.|Generally we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay with friends and family. Although the studios and apartments are a bit dated, everything worked in the one we were allocated and given the location of the Marianthi we found it to be very good value for money and would stay again. If you want a relaxing holiday within easy reach of all the amenities that Pefkos has to offer then this is the perfect accommodation for you. The rooms are well equiped with everything that you need for a self catering break. |In the room where we stayed we had three single beds, an adequate sink/cooking area and a very spacious shower/bath/wet room. You also get a dressing table and wardrobe with plenty of space for all your clothing, cases etc. A/C and Wi-Fi was included and a safe was available if needed.|Patio doors lead to a personal outside area with great views and a table and chairs and airer for wet garments as well.|I would recommend contacting the owner Yannis direct for prices and availability as the apartments are not widely advertised which is a shame. The nearby Rock Bar is a good place to enquire if you are already in Pefkos as the property is situated just above and behind it.|The selection of photos on here show the whole property off well. The pool is massive, warm and well maintained too.
