Checked in and paid the extortionate €10/day rate for aircon. Go to room and got offered 0 assistance with luggage, moving across the site, until he saw we were visibly struggling with the stairs and then reluctantly helped and had the nerve to look for a tip. Room was very dated on 1st viewing but we had expected cheap and cheerful so not overly surprised. Started to unpack, bathroom light didn't work. Very very little clothes storage of any sort, not suitable for 3 adults and the wardrobe had about 5 hangers, which all looked like.previous guests had left them as 1 was a lingerie hanger and 1 was for a child. Penny pinching on basics! Fridge was warm as they hadnt switched it on, not ideal when we had stuff ready to go in it and had been delayed arriving anyway! Penny pinching in the extreme. Bathroom cabinet/shelf very loose on wall. Owner came and fiddled with light and made it work, at which point we also mentioned that the aircon didn't appear to be functioning correctly (unit was very old). We were told it had been serviced the week before and it was fine. At €10 a day, we expected the aircon to be able to run to keep the apartment cool for our return when out. Nope. Went off when you removed the electric card which was welded to the room key. We'd had a long delay flying in and spent a very uncomfortable 1st night with rock hard beds and a ration of 1 pillow per person, which were also wafer thin, the aircon still not working properly, only cooling about 2m2 of the room. Just not fit for purpose. Aircon again reported next morning and the lady owner said she would call svc company out. Spent some time by the pool, which is actually.a very nice area and clean, only to realise that the parasols that were not broken were a mesh material and offered zero shade or protection against the sun. Went back to room and realised nothing to hang wet swimwear on, no clothes horse, nor small line. Aircon reported again next morning and owner promised it would be looked at today. Tried to book the 7pm bbQ dinner advertised on a board outside. Snapped at, no BBQ. (This board remained unchanged outside for the next 8 days we were in Faliraki so can only assume they were trying to lure people in on false advert hoping they'd stay and eat anyway) After an evening out I sat at the terrace bar for a last drink, spoiled by a group of girls in the room above the reception/bar area shouting and screaming for about 30 mins, this late at night. This attracted some random drunk bloke from the road who approached me and made me very uncomfortable. Owners sat at other end of bar terrace and did nothing about either the noise or the random drunk . So much for looking after your guests! Aircon again reported on day 3 and owner said engineer was at hospital with his son but would turn up later that day. Didn't happen We had a lie in the next day and while we were asleep the cleaner let herself in, and rather than then leave, decides to carry on anyway. This was the final straw and we found alternative accommodation. We stripped the beds, as we always do on vacating and that's when we saw how grim the beds and pillows were, stained and yellow, no mattress protector On checking out, the owner was very aggressive, asking why and then ignoring what we said anyway. When asked for a refund for unused days of aircon payment she threw it across the counter at me and then made sarcastic comments as i left. Just vile, dated, dirty and very unfriendly We expected cheap n cheerful but got a hovel ripping off its guests 1star is 1 too many. Avoid. Edit to add that we were given no warning of the rolling blackouts, which would've been a 10 second thing to do. We understood that they were due to the fires, but a heads up would've been nice. We also had no water on 1 day so we're unable to wash, which they again blamed on the fires...but the other businesses in the area had water

Ended holiday 3 days early & left as we couldn’t handle it anymore!! Don’t waste your money!! This place was absolutely horrific. One of the worst travel experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable, disrespected, or misled by accommodation in my life. Please, do not stay here. Yes, we were “welcomed” on arrival, but it was cold and rushed. We were shown to our room with no explanation of anything — no info about how to use the air con (which, by the way, is €10 per night and not included), no information about check-out, local area — nothing. No help with luggage either. It was like we were an inconvenience from the moment we arrived. The room itself? Absolutely disgusting. Outdated, dirty, and depressing. The furniture looked like it hadn’t been updated in decades. Surfaces were dirty, the floor was grimy, and the general feel of the place was just gross. The kitchenette was a complete joke. One bowl, no proper knives, no chopping board — basically impossible to prepare a meal. The hob was bizarrely placed directly above the fridge, which felt like a safety hazard. Whoever designed it clearly doesn’t cook. Completely unusable. It was around 35°C at night and we couldn’t sleep. The air conditioning was never mentioned to us — we only found out from reading other people’s reviews that it costs extra. Windows open? Constant, unbearable traffic noise from a main road right outside. You choose: sweat in silence or be kept awake all night & waking up covered in mosquito bites! The water stopped working during our stay. No warning, no explanation, and when we asked, we were met with complete indifference. When it came back, the water was brown. No apology, no solution — just shrugged shoulders like this was normal. You were also lucky to get a warm shower... consistently cold water! The shower was broken — the head wouldn't stay up and barely worked. We asked them to fix it. They claimed they did. It was still completely useless. As for the “hosts,” they were some of the rudest people I’ve encountered. They just sat around chain-smoking and staring at guests like we were intruding in their space. Not once did they smile, ask if everything was okay, or offer help. The most disturbing part? The animal neglect. They kept birds crammed in a tiny cage, clearly distressed. And a dog was chained up outside all day in the heat with barely any space or shade. It was genuinely upsetting and says a lot about the kind of people running this place. The pool? Useless. It’s right next to the loud road, so forget about relaxing. And after the rest of what we saw, we didn’t even dare try the food. We were meant to stay a week. We left after four nights because it became unbearable. It ruined part of our holiday. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in “accommodation” before — it felt more like being trapped somewhere you’re not welcome. You couldn’t pay me to go back. This place should be ashamed of itself. Avoid like the plague.

This would have been a 5* review if not for the room. We booked our 2 week holiday with Jet2 Holidays. We had never been to Rhodes before and loved it the Hotel is ideally situated 10 minutes from Faliraki centre and 20/30 minutes to the beach, its situated on a busy main road which we never really noticed, it was handy because you can turn right out of the hotel and catch a bus either to Rhodes town one way or Lindos the other, the bus service on this side of the Island is great, cheap, runs on time and the drivers are very helpful. We had breakfast in the hotel every day it was great value and we loved the Greek and Continental Breakfast, only ate once at night that was also great, we loved the cocktails, death by chocolate and the mojitos recommended mojitos made with fresh mint from the garden. The pool was fantastic very clean and we could always get a sunbed, the hotel provides clean beach towels to use every day and they is a basket of sun lotions in case you run out. The owners were very helpful and friendly throughout. The room was small, dirty had worn out old furniture and the air con (€8 a day) struggled to keep the room cool, the worse bit was the bathroom, the shower was powerful with lots of hot water unfortunately the shower curtain did not reach the tray and the tray was very shallow which meant the whole bathroom flooded, however carefully you used it, would have been fine if it was a wet room but the tiles when wet were very slippy, we resorted to putting beach towels on the floor to soak up the water and prevent slipping. Talking to other guests it seems all the rooms in the block next to the pool are similar to ours but the block where the bar is are larger and seem more modern. We did ask if we could move rooms but this was not possible as the Hotel was full being peak season. When we got back home we complained to Jet2 that the room we had was nothing like the ones in the brochure and how old and dirty it was, we got fobbed of and told and i quote - "From the images you’ve provided of your room, I can see wear and tear on the furniture which the Hotel Manager will do their upmost to keep on top of, however, I hope you can understand is inevitable during high season." so i guess the room will be perfect out of season!!!!! We have booked next years holiday again with Jet2 but obviously not this hotel which is a shame.

I recently stayed at this hotel with a group of six people, booking three rooms. While we understand that operating a hotel can be challenging, I would like to offer some feedback on areas that could enhance the guest experience at this property.

We purchased this package through JET 2, expecting a decent level of service, but we were left disappointed by several aspects of our stay.

Upon our late arrival via a JET 2 transfer, we were greeted by two staff members. Unfortunately, their demeanor appeared frustrated, and there was no warmth or welcoming atmosphere. A friendly smile or greeting upon arrival goes a long way in setting a positive tone for the stay, especially after a long journey.

The hotel is conveniently located, being a 10-minute walk from the town centre and around 15 minutes from the beach. However, we were surprised to find there was no dedicated luggage room. After checking out, we were allowed to leave our luggage in the reception area, which was helpful, but a more secure, designated space for luggage would enhance the overall service.

Regarding room amenities, we were surprised to find that basic toiletries such as soap, shower gel, shampoo, a hair dryer, and an iron were not provided. These are typically expected in a hotel, and their absence left us unprepared, particularly as none were available at reception when we asked. Providing essential toiletries or clearly communicating that guests should bring their own would help manage expectations.

We also found the showers to be quite small, making it difficult to move without the shower curtain sticking to our bodies. This made the shower experience uncomfortable. An upgrade to larger enclosures or a different curtain setup could improve guest comfort significantly.

In terms of cleanliness, my roommate was bitten by a bug, and we noticed ants in the room. Additionally, the beds were quite squeaky, which affected sleep quality. Addressing these issues with pest control and improving bed quality could significantly improve the comfort of your guests.

We were also surprised to learn that air conditioning requires a payment of 10 euros per night. While we understand that AC is an added cost in some hotels, it would be helpful if this information were made clear at the time of booking, so guests can plan accordingly.

During our stay, the interactions with hotel staff during breakfast were not very inviting. Simple gestures like smiling, engaging with guests, and showing interest can help create a more welcoming atmosphere.

Lastly, we noticed that the swimming pool grout was black in places, which could give the impression that it’s not being maintained properly. Regular cleaning and maintenance of pool areas would ensure guests feel comfortable using the facilities.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback. With a few improvements in customer service, cleanliness, and communication, Old Windmill Studios has great potential to offer a much more positive and enjoyable...
