When we arrived, we checked in (at the hotel opposite so approx. 100m from the rooms) and were given some basic info. We were told we need to come back in the morning to pay room taxes as they ‘didn’t trust’ the night receptionist with money. They was annoying but we accepted it. ||On first impressions, the room was ok. It was basic but looked clean (although had a musty smell). The beds were relatively comfortable but, as they have large wooden frames, there were gaps between the beds (we were later given extra pillows to fill the gaps). ||When we woke we noticed the room was a bit more shabby than we first thought (stains on light shades by bed, paint chipped/poor finishes in decoration, rusty shower head and fittings, wobbly bathroom shelf etc) but we felt it was ok for the week/money. There were quite a lot of ants so we did have to ask for this to be sorted. ||The bathroom was small and anytime we used the shower, it overflowed from the shower tray to the floor. There was a floor drain but we had to use small towels to mop up excess water before it poured into the bedroom. The bathroom window needed to be open to prevent a steam build up but this made you visible while showering. ||We didn’t realise towels were only changed twice each week (and we don’t believe ours was changed twice). This meant we went the last few days with dirty towels as we had to use some of our towels for the floor. ||We had paid for bed and breakfast and, whilst we went each morning, we just had fruit and coffee as the selection was awful. Limited selection of foods and any hot food was like warm at best. Even when we arrived as soon as breakfast opened, the food wasn’t hot. ||Our biggest issue by far was the service. We’d asked for two room keys as two of us stayed in the room and sometimes went off to do our own thing. This request was refused as we are told it was policy to only allow one key. Therefore, each time we needed to get into our room we had to be escorted by reception if one of the party wasn’t available with the key. I questioned this and was told it was to stop guests leaving key cards in the room for air con etc. I was told, clearly, they can’t trust guests as they don’t know us. ||I complained but was told I had to contact management as the reception staff were just doing as they were told. I did email management but had passive aggressive responses which dismissed my concerns (which you get a sense of in response to negative review on here) and I was then accused of shouting at reception staff which simply was not true. This made me reluctant to speak to them again. ||It’s a shame as there are positives about this place such as distance to beach but this was overshadowed by poor management and too many issues. There are lots of better places to...
Read moreThis was our third time staying at lemon tree apartments. We love coming here, the hotel is off a quiet side road and close proximity to the beach, restaurants and bars. The staff are always very friendly. We stayed b&b, breakfast has a small selection but we always found something we wanted to eat and had no complaints on what we did eat. The cakes served at breakfast are delicious!||We struggled with the air con this time around. In previous years the room was accessed with a physical key and we were able to leave our air con running for the afternoon which helped keep the room nice and cool. This year access is via a key card so as soon as you leave the air con turns off. As we were at the beach all day and out for dinner I don’t think the air con was ever given the chance to fully cool the room. Positioning of the air con maybe not optimal for full room cooling (directed at the cupboard right in front of the balcony doors). Not a big issue, but the room sometimes felt quite stuffy. We also struggled with the ants this year. Previous years they have been around but weren’t too big a problem. Ants are to be expected in these climates and they don’t normally bother me but this year they were relentless and a few nights I was woken by them crawling on me. We did raise with reception and they said they would send maintenance round but we’re not sure if they came at all, or if what they did just didn’t work.||We stayed in the same room as we did back in 2019. It’s a shame some of the same issues are around, for example the bathroom window sticking when you try to open or close it. It would also be nice to have black out blinds on the windows.||All that being said, we will be back! We love this hotel||The last couple of times we have been in room 1, which feels a little bigger than the others on the top floor (although I may be imagining it). We prefer that room. You can however hear the noise from the bars in the evening more so if that’s an issue for you you would be best to request the rooms at...
Read moreWe stayed here for 7 nights as half board and we really enjoyed the pool area, evening meals and the area. The evening meals were incredible, it was like fine dining, the choices were good too. The pool area is quite big, there’s plenty sun-beds and the staff working around the pool bars are fab! The area itself is perfect, everything is so close by. The breakfast room and pool area was only a 1 minute walk away from our rooms and there’s so many bars and restaurants near. Everything outside of the rooms was 10/10.|However, the rooms themselves weren’t as good. We came expecting a basic room, no TV, 3 beds, bathroom etc. The room was infested was bugs, they was all over the floors, on the cabinets and nearby the door. Obviously with it being so hot, the hotel can’t help that, which we understand but I’d just be mindful to bring some sprays with you to help prevent bite marks. We all ended up being bitten in our sleep, and we didn’t want to have any food or drinks in our rooms as it just attracted more ants. Other than this, the rooms themselves were fine, you get what you need and the rooms are modern. However, the ant situation made the stay more difficult, so we tried staying out of our rooms as much as possible. |Overall, we will be staying here again, the meals were perfect and it’s a great area with so...
