Had to book 2 days in advance for a sunset table at the edge of the courtyard - there was a wedding party the evening we wanted to visit and then next day was also fully booked as a result. The food was very good - the staff were attentive and made us feel welcome. The calamari was nicely presented but really not a very large portion and probably the most expensive we had during our 2 week stay in Pefkos. Also this was served with Tzaziki when I was sure the menu said it was served with tartare sauce - when I asked the waiter he just dismissed this and walked away. It would have been better if he had just explained they were out of tartare sauce perhaps? We also had chicken souvlaki and mushroom risotto. The baklava dessert with ice cream was very good and a large portion. We also had a litre of local wine, a cocktail and an Irish coffee (which was excellent). The one thing we did not enjoy about this restaurant was the seating - the chairs were very uncomfortable right from the start - they were small, folding chairs with small tough wicker seating in the middle - seemed like they may have come from a classroom. After just a few minutes sitting my wife and I were quite uncomfortable. Overall it's a spectacular location with breathtaking views but we did have better meals elsewhere in Pefkos. Shame as we were really looking forward to this one - and it is not cheap! In all the...
Read moreNice view. My wife ordered a black Angus ribeye steak. When she was asked how she would like it cooked, she said rare. When the steak come out it was more medium/well done, when paying a high price you want it to be right. We called the waiter over and explained that it was medium/well done, his answer was that ribeye is recommended at medium rare. No mention of this before. Why ask how someone wants it cooked if your just going to cook it how it’s recommended? Anyway he took it back and cooked another, now instead of cooking it rare like asked they decided to be funny and cook it blue, also being stone cold in the middle, I called the waiter over again (different person), I explained that it’s cold and he tried saying it’s cold because of the fat?? I’ve had many steaks from blue to medium and I’ve personally never had a cold one, with a huge argumentative attitude he took it back to the kitchen, once it come back it was again well done even worse than the first time, we gave up. I also had the lamb shank which was supposed to be “tender” but was mainly hard. Don’t recommend this place, it’s a shame because it’s...
Read moreMy daughter and I came here for dinner to celebrate our last night of our holiday together before she leaves for Australia for a year. We booked five days in advance to get a good table and they didn't disappoint with that. We were, however, disappointed with one member of staff. He was really condescending to us when we commented on how hot it was, telling us that it was summer and wet shouldn't complain. We had just walked to the restaurant along the beach and it was still 30degrees at 8pm so his comment didn't make us feel great and made us feel very uncomfortable. Although the views was amazing we were disappointed that the food was not great and this restaurant wasn't more authentically Greek. It was like they were trying to be a 5 star Michelin restaurant but we felt the food was ok but could have been better. It would have been a more pleasant experience had they stuck to being a friendly Greek Taverna instead of trying to be something they weren't. The views did not disappoint but sadly, the overall dining...
