Please consider using the MyCoast app to report this beach, as it helps protect Greece’s coastline for everyone. This is a nice, sandy beach with clear water, where one part is quietly used by locals while the other half is completely packed with sunbeds lined right down to the water’s edge. There are no bins and no toilets, and George comes down right after opening his restaurant just above the beach to collect money for the sunbeds. They charge 19 euros for an umbrella with two sunbeds, which is overpriced and feels unfair, especially as there are no facilities provided. The sunbeds are placed directly at the shoreline, even though according to Greek law (article 13, law 2971/2001), they should be at least 5 meters away from the water, so the setup is likely illegal. The MyCoast app can be used to report this kind of illegal sunbed takeover, helping to keep Greece’s beaches free and accessible for everyone, and I recommend using the MyCoast app to support fair beach use while enjoying your stay. Also There’s a camera installed at the end of the beach filming people without any sign posted to inform swimmers, adding an uncomfortable feeling while your...
Read moreThis beach is a lovely spot with soft sand and beautifully clear water. One side remains quiet and natural, often enjoyed by locals, while the other is more commercialized.
On the busier side, rows of sunbeds are set up right along the shoreline. There aren’t any bins or restrooms, yet someone from the nearby restaurant comes down to collect €19 for an umbrella and two sunbeds. This feels quite expensive considering the lack of basic facilities.
It’s also worth noting that Greek law (Article 13, Law 2971/2001) requires a 5-meter distance between sunbeds and the water, but here they’re placed right at the edge. I checked the MyCoast app, which is used to monitor beach permits and report issues, and I couldn’t find any permits listed for this setup. I’ve included a few screenshots from the app below.
If you notice similar situations during your stay, I encourage you to check the MyCoast app as well. It’s a helpful way to support fair and responsible use of Greece’s beautiful beaches. One more thing: At the far end of the beach, there is a CCTV camera pointed toward the shore, which may feel a bit intrusive to...
Read moreVery cozy beach. With small amount of sun-beds. We arrived around 10. There were still some places. But it’s September. We paid 14€ for 2 sun-beds and umbrella. With that price you are getting 2 bottles of 0,5 cold water. The shower is available on the beach, for the toilet you need to go to the restaurant above the beach (it opens at 11), also there you can get breakfast. On the beach free wi-do is available and delivery service of food and drinks to the beach. You just need to scan QR code on your umbrella. Salads, pizza, burgers, finger bites are available. The price for the beer is 2,5€, comparing to 4€ in restaurants. If you swim until big stones on the beach and take your googles you can enjoy the fauna of this area. Different fish species, which don’t really afraid of people. So far it was the best beach on the Rhodes island for me. But I didn’t finish to...
