this is a great hotel, bordering excellent except for 1 slight issue with our stay. ||The Positives: -|very clean hotel, with use of approximately 5 large pools. 1 being adults only. this felt like you were staying in a resort and gave you the choice to move around and try out different pools every day. We loved this personally. ||The staff are all excellent, some of them work very very long hours, but always have a lovely smile and are happy to serve the guests. ||The food at breakfast is very good. We found the bar food at lunchtimes to be excellent and well priced. We loved the drinks around the pools and the cocktail choices were excellent. ||right on the beach , so you have that option too, and the beach is fine sand and very clear waters. The water is nice and warm in September too.||the slight negatives|because the grounds of the hotel are so nice, and clearly the wedding options offered across the 3 hotels are so good, they clearly do hold a lot of weddings. There were at least 3 held in our 5 night stay. This does tend to mean there are large groups of families/friends congregating at a bar or a pool and sort of taking over a bit. you can change pool and you can avoid it to a degree so only a slight negative, but you do really notice it. ||The Room:|we had booked to stay 5 nights, in a 2 person studio, with an additional bed for our 3 year old daughter. The staff had been accommodating in arranging same, and we had paid extra for the additional bed for our daughter, so it was a little annoying when we checked in for the staff member to say, oh we would put a cot in your room for free! otherwise the staff were polite and excellent at check in. ||we were allocated room in block I - room 233. Sadly, this room was not for us. The air-conditioning barely worked, we needed to have it on 24 hours a day to make a difference (in september!) we did raise it at check in, who sent maintenance who told us..that was it! The fridge in the room was the same, and didnt work very well. This block is also where the staff live, you can see all their clothes hanging up in the rooms below you. They also choose to sit on the stairs (all very polite) but does feel like your entering a block of flats. Lastly, this room is one of only 4 rooms that has a balcony facing this way, and you are right opposite the hotel entrance to the The Lindia Thalassa hotel. So at all times of the day you get coaches pulling up, including at 2 or 3 or 4am dropping guests off. You also get everybody walking past your balcony (at head height) on their way back to the hotel, lots of wedding parties who are drunk going back to their room. It didnt feel like you could sit and be comfortable on the balcony. ||it very much felt we were given the worst possible block and room to stay in. Which does feel a shame as the room itself was clean and the hotel is excellent and we probably would stay again....but not...
Read moreBooked a week's stay in Pefki Island resort as a last minute break. We made our booking directly with the hotel and received a 10% discount and also free return transfer to the airport therefore off to a great start. On arrival at Rhodes airport our transfer was waiting. The lady who took us to the hotel was very friendly and engaging (many thanks). When checking in the reception staff were both friendly and efficient. Our room (B208) was fine with facilities to self cater with a decent fridge and kettle. The cost for the on room safe was 30 euros for a week which is very expensive. Another slight downside was the size of the bathroom. The room t.v was fine for us as we don't watch tele on our holidays but if it's your cup of tea you could watch English channels including BBC and ITV. The hotel itself was of a good standard and kept very clean. There were multiple pool area's so therefore no mad dash in the morning to get a sun lounger. Unfortunately during our stay we hit a snag with the water.......yes no hot water for the shower for 3 days. No fun whatsoever. I did report it to reception after the first day and had to report it again on the second day but alas it took,as stated,3 days before it was fixed. Shame as although the cubicle was small the shower ,(when working) was both hot and powerful. We stayed on a B&B basis. You took breakfast in the Elia dining area. Initially this was great with plenty of tables and not too hectic. Unfortunately as the hotel began to fill up it became chaotic!!!!!!. On many occasions there were no tables available and it was a free for all as nobody managed seating allocations. We even found ourselves sitting at the bar to eat breakfast. The hotel was in an ideal location for us as it was only a short distance to both town and the beach. To sum up a decent hotel let down by a couple of bad experiences. Would we stay here again probably not. Nobody should be left without hot water to shower in 2023. Oh yes forgot to mention the maid service which was also good ( many thanks). Good luck for the future and hopefully you will resolve the issues we encountered during our stay.NOTE: Decided to return in 2024 and it was a much better experience. Luckily got a refurbished room and everything was great . The delays for breakfast have now been resolved and there were no issues with the shower. All the staff at Pefki Island are really friendly and a real credit to the hotel. Would return without hesitation. Thanks to everyone at Pefki Island your hard work , friendly approach and dedication were much appreciated. Hopefully we will...
Read moreThis holiday has been the most amazing to the point that we are considering booking to go back next year, something that we never do regardless of how good the holiday is.||This hotel/resort was kind of picked for us as we were attending a wedding. I was a little apprehensive given that I didn't do my normal full research on the hotel given the wedding, the Greek 2 stars (Jet 2 is a 3 start plus) also gave me some jitters. Also in recent years I have got into a bad habit of only looking at all inclusive and the transfer times had to be less than an hour. If it hadn't been for the wedding I wouldn't have gave this resort a second thought!||The advertised transfer time is 2hrs, however it only took 1hr 25mins to get to the hotel. Transfer time back to the airport was a little longer (1hr 50mins) mainly due to some people not informing Jet2 they didnt need the transfer and therefore the coach having to wait the allotted time.||I have never been to a hotel where the cleaning and maintenance of the grounds is to the standard of this hotel, staff are constantly doing something, All the staff are very friendly and polite and you are always greeted with a good morning or hello.||Sunbeds - Absolute bliss to go to a hotel where you don't have to get up a silly o'clock to get a sunbed, Plenty of sunbeds for all at the pool we visited each day (Delfini pool). Most days they were still sunbeds free at 10am.||First restaurant and shops are only 5 minute walk away, which you then have loads of restaurants to choose from. Our favorite restaurants were probably the Misty cow and Lorenzos||There is entertainment most nights but you do have to move around the bars each night if you want to see them all, Karaoke is a very popular night. If memory serves me correct I think Wednesday, Friday & Saturday are the days with no entertainment||Wi-Fi is free and a decent standard/coverage.||Aircon also free.||Safe cost 55 euros for 2 weeks which is probably my only gripe as that seems a touch expensive, and its a key that you get rather than a key code safer. Therefore you have to carry a key, if the key gets lost its a 45 euro charge.||The rooms are fully equipped to be able to make meals in the room if desired.. kettle, toaster, sandwich toaster, bowls, plates, cups, glassed, all utensils, fridge with small freezer compartment.||Full size iron and...
