Galazio Sea Side Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Serifos

It was on a cold day, during one of Chicago’s brutal winter months, that we made a reservation for a modest looking 1 bedroom suite on the small island of Serifos. |But it was on a beautiful Greek island summer day in our Bluebird rental car that we tumbled down the hill straight onto the town’s finest beach, pulling to a stop near the quaint picket fence protecting those within dear Stratos’s wonderful Galazio Seaside Apartments!||Travel is not easy and it doesn’t always work out in one’s favor, with schedule changes colliding with weather delays and worse, but due to cancelled ferries and disrupted flights, our original plan for a 3 night stay somehow stretched to 6 in this small and tranquil beach village that sleeps till at least 8:30 or 9 and then slowly the tables at Alexandro’s Restaurant where they serve “only greek food here”, or at Vassilio’s All-day Beach Bar, just next door, fill with people in various stages of beach undress while others seem to be moving tho not really awake yet….just real nice and easy. ||Yes, Stratos is the ultimate host and his accommodations are terrific. There is everything written in the comments below. It's a perfect spot for families with small children since there is no street in front of the apartments. You walk a 10 meter stone walk and you're on the beach! There are 6 apartments in total and nothing else beside that small building. At the sandy, non-organized beach trees spend natural shade which makes the whole spot more natural. Since Serifos is a small, relatively unknown island for international tourists, the beach, Livadia and even the capitol of the island is still very authentic.||One thing you have to know: Small Super Markets, restaurants, bars are very close to the apartments - you just need to walk a llittle hill and you'll find everything on the other side of it. That gives the place even a more quiet atmosphere.||It is a family driven business and focussed on great hospitality. The owner is on daily duty and always available for any question.||We've stayed in a double-room apartment which was perfect to sleep an hour longer, without hearing the children. The rooms are well equiped with a modern TV, small kitchen (fridge, cutlery, pots, pan and oven) and free wifi.||We will come defintely come...
