Nikoletta Geronti Pension — Hotel in Municipality of Sifnos

My first trip back to Sifnos in 30 years and the island was just as special, beautiful and unspoilt as I remembered. We stayed at Nikkoletas lovely rooms, in a perfect spot, nestled between the wonderful villages of Artemonas and Apollonia, for ten days. ||Nikkoletta looked after us like little chicks, bringing us delicious homemade treats (she is a fantastic cook) giving us recommendations, nothing was too much trouble. ||This is very much a family business, her sister has a few apartments next door and her son and husband drive one of the local taxis - collecting us from the port and carrying our heavy bags (we of course brought far too much luggage!) ||Each thoughtfully designed room has a small kitchen area and an outdoor balcony or terrace - the views are breathtaking - lemons trees, the villages on other side and the glistening sea beyond. ||Just to sit there in the peace, with the smell of jasmine and lemons, with a coffee or a glass of wine and look at the view and the ever-changing light was a perfect joy. ||Our fellow guests were delightful, swapping tips on restaurants, walks and books. ||This was a wonderful stay and a unique experience and made all the more special by Nikkoletta's attention to detail and...

A delightful experience! I loved my room, VIEW, location, the warm and inviting atmosphere, the surprise treats ; ), and getting to know Nikoletta. The Pension is her passion. She is committed to having her guests feel at home and having the best possible experience while visiting Appolonia. She was "in tune" with how I personally travel and my particular needs - ie, explicit directions/drawn map! when I was going out as I get lost easily, having her husband (a taxi driver ; ) ) waiting to pick me up from the ferry and to rescue me from a village because it was windy and cold and the bus wasn't due for another hour and a half, to name a few...|When I decided that if possible, I would really like a massage on my last day, she gave me two options, described the differences, made the appointment and also gave me the option of being picked up at the bus stop in Kamares.|With Nikoletta, It was bascially, "what did I want? need?" and then make her her mission to make it happen. Complete heaven! We honestly didn’t want to leave Nikoletta’s place: the rooms are immaculate with traditional features and super modern bathrooms, complete with toiletries. The photos on the website really don’t do them justice! We were greeted with homemade lemonade and cakes, and Nicoletta even left fruit in our fridge for us during our stay. The sea view from the terrace is so beautiful, surrounded by grapevines. In fact we desperately tried to find somewhere to get takeaway to eat our dinner at home- we definitely had the best view! The location is super practical too- The bus stops 5 mins from the property, with direct links to Vathi, Kamares and Platis Gialos, and restaurants and bars just a 5-10 min walk away. We also walked a gorgeous 15 min walk to Artemonas for dinner one night which is really easy.
