⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hotel Review: Atlantica Mikri Poli Crete|Travel Dates: Arrived 21st August|We arrived mid-afternoon around 3pm and were warmly welcomed by the reception team. They applied our all-inclusive wristbands straight away and, knowing the restaurant was about to close for the afternoon, suggested we grab lunch before checking in fully — a thoughtful and appreciated gesture.|After a quick bite, we returned to reception to complete the check-in process. From there, we were collected by golf carts and driven to our room — a big help, especially considering the hotel is built on a hill and we had quite a bit of luggage.|🏨 Rooms|Our room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped with air conditioning and a small fridge. The bathroom was particularly impressive — a large layout featuring a bath/shower combo, a large sink area, and a separate shower cubicle. This made it easy for more than one of us to get ready at the same time, and surprisingly, water pressure wasn't an issue even with both showers running.|🏊 Pools & Grounds|The pool area was decent — nothing standout, but it did the job. Our two daughters enjoyed both the main pools and the water slides, although they mentioned the slides could have been a bit more exciting. That said, the hotel grounds offer lovely views of the beach, the sea, and even a glimpse of the harbour. A walk down to the harbour is well worth it — the local tavernas and people there provided incredibly warm and personal service.|🎉 Entertainment & Activities|The staff overall were very friendly and welcoming. The Animation Team deserves a special mention — David, Nicholas, and Felix were fantastic, always around encouraging guests to get involved in activities such as:|Darts|Beach Volleyball|Water Polo|Table Tennis|Molkky|They really helped create a fun and inclusive atmosphere and were always happy to chat and make everyone feel welcome.|Evening entertainment was held in the amphitheatre. The animation team clearly gave it their all every night, but we felt the shows could benefit from a higher budget — they felt a little amateurish at times. More professional or varied external acts (like the Greek dancers night) or even live music could be a great improvement.|🍽 Food & Drink|The main buffet restaurant was generally very good, particularly on themed nights like "Mexican Night", which offered great variety and flavour. However, the daily food options did start to feel repetitive after a while.|Desserts were a letdown — mostly repetitive, creamy dishes with very few standout options.|We really enjoyed the Greek à la carte restaurant located above the buffet — this needs to be pre-booked and is well worth it.|As for drinks, the all-inclusive drinks package could use some work. The cocktail menu was very limited — no Mojito, for example — and the pre-mixed cocktails often tasted watered down. Spirits with mixers were decent, the beer was okay, and the wine (served from a box) was just fine — nothing special.|✅ Overall Impression|Despite a few areas that could be improved (mainly the drinks selection and evening entertainment), Atlantica Mikri Poli Crete delivered a really enjoyable holiday experience. The friendly staff, spacious rooms, and beautiful setting made it a great place to relax and have fun as a family.|We would absolutely recommend this hotel and would be happy to return...

The hotel has many advantages, although there are also small disadvantages. I'll start with what I liked the most, the animations! The animators from "Pink Wave" did a great job until the very end of the season (and we were in October). Special recognition is due to Lorenzo, Klaudia, Magda, Jacob, who took care of the guests throughout their stay. During the day, there were: water zumba, aqua aerobics, water polo, beach volleyball and many others. In the evening, you could count on interesting performances, animations, cabarets and even a disco. There was something for everyone. There are also plenty of attractions for children, a mini club and evening dancing. I haven't been to a hotel with so much going on for a long time

Unforgettable vacation|It was one of the best summer vacations of our family. Briefly about all + and -.||Beach and sea. The sea is incredibly warm, transparent, clean, there were almost no waves, the entrance to the sea is gradual, convenient for both children and adults. There were no stones at all, the beach is sandy, shoes for a stony beach were not needed. There are always plenty of free sunbeds on the beach. Towels and sunbeds are free. Some sunbeds in the first row on the beach in the morning were already marked with "Reserved" signs, so there is an opportunity to reserve a sunbed, but we did not use it, there was no such need.||Hotel room. We had a room with a partial sea view, located in the central building (where the reception is). In fact, it was the perfect full sea view! It should be considered that the hotel is located on a mountain, so the path from the reception to the pool and the sea goes down. Next time we would prefer a room by the pool. I am attaching a photo of the hotel map to the review so that you can clearly see how the hotel rooms are located.||Animation. The hotel has a team of very cool animators who conduct activities in the pool, on the beach, in the fitness area, work with children in the kids club, and also conduct evening shows, beach and pool parties, children's discos. The coolest animation I've ever seen. I am attaching some photos from the evening shows. ||Food. A huge variety of food for every taste. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the main restaurant. Snacks between main meals can be taken at the pool bar and Deli Cafe on the 4th floor of the main building. In the main restaurant there is a children's area, where children pick their own food. Also, the restaurant has a special terrace for adults only (16+). For us, the choice of food was varied, the food was very tasty, there were also a lot of fruits and sweets. It was very difficult to control myself and not overeat 😊.||The coffee in the machine is soluble, but in the morning in the parents' area of the main restaurant, you could make yourself a brewed coffee, which was simply fantastic (I've attached a photo). During the day, brewed coffee could be had at the Deli Cafe on the 4th floor for 2 euros.||In the hotel's Greek restaurant, you can have dinner once for free. It was very interesting to try traditional Greek cuisine.||Transfer from the airport to the hotel. This is the only minus of the whole vacation. It took us 3.5 hours from the airport by bus. Next time we will take a rental car transfer, which is very popular at this resort. We recommend renting a car from the airport to the hotel and back. Many families were on our bus from different hotels, and we spent a lot of time separating everyone. Secondly, the road in Crete is serpentine, and not everyone can easily tolerate such a road.||The hotel has some very cool shops with quality Greek souvenirs, and the hotel itself is located on a street where many other gift shops offer a huge selection of gift items.||Next to the beach on the left side is a mountain, which can be easily reached on the left side of the reception. There is an incredible view, you can take great...

We came in July. First I have to say that we were aware that it was a long distance from the airport but in practice it was really too long, very tiring. Hotel is on so many levels that from the reception to the pool/see level you need to take two elevetors (judge yourselves). The room we got was not perfect. Quite close to the restaurant and pool but was very average. We came with two boys and decided for the two rooms and bathroom. As a result you got one room very lit with the doors to the outside and the room in the back without any window and very depressing. Our kids were very nervous during the night in this extremely dark room. The restaurant offers wide variety of food and we really liked it in the first days. In the end the quality of food was judged by us lower than in the first 2 days. You also have some theme days like seafood/greek foood and this is ok. Pool area is ok but only 2 small pools is too few in my opinion. One more deep than the other. Also the sun beds and umbrellas area is not well thought. Umbrellas are mounted for good in the floor so you end up moving the sun beds to catch the shadow but this is impossible to manage with everyone nearby. By the end of the day you see chaos and people a bit annoyed with the situation. The pool bar is not he place you can come inside. It offers some humburgers/hot dogs and sandwithches plus off course drinks in plastic cups. Sea area is ok and thats it. Sea bar would be helpful. The "night bar" next to the reastaurant is ok but there was our biggest dissapointment. 3 days in a row when we went there with a kids we faced a very low service. You can`t order yourself so you have to wait for an order. To get the first one was quite easy but then they did not see you. So we tried and tried but nothing happened. In the 3rd day we stood up and went out what was noticed but he waitress and I just told her that the service is so bad. And that it started. I decided to start to write the opinion in the google about the hotel so but then stopped. Next day quite early in the morning we got a call from the reception with a qustion if everything is ok. As there was small mulfuncion of the toilets on the previous day we said yes it is but they asked about putting the opinion in the google..So we said what was our main problem. After this issue later on we were asked by the lady that was collecting cups at the pool what was the issue in the bar?! Just imagine that you are getting a rest in the pool and they spot you and ask what was your problem.... I felt totally not comfortable (almost like guilty). In this evening we got 1 free drink from the hotel at the bar. Worth to mention that the restaurant a la carte is the super waste of time. Not worth at all to come to. Everything we tried was awful comparing to te main restaurant.

Went here for about a week with my significant other and its very good! I don't think its five stars, I would say three and a half is a better rating for this resort. I want to write a thorough review because my partner and I had a hard time deciding which resort we wanted to stay at. I hope this helps! The booze: The drinks are okay, its very syrupy and sweet for most of the cocktails, you are better off just asking for shots. I mainly drank bellinis and baileys and coffee haha! The drinks at the beach bar are very rushed, but at night you can go to the blue bar by the restaurant and drink there which is really, really nice. The food: Food was good, some dishes were pretty yummy but it is really a hit or miss for most of them. Breakfast is basically the same thing everyday - eggs, buns, pancakes, fruit etc. I found that lunch time had better food than dinner time, I don't know why. I noticed they do reuse their food like when there was chocolate mousse they put it in another pastry they made but its not a big deal, I don't like wasting food either. Dinner was good and they do switch it up but at the end of the week I was pretty much over eating at the bistro. All in all, not bad. One pet peeve I really had was the portions. They literally dump a huge pile of food on your plate and I felt bad for not finishing. Also, I didn't like that they only give you one napkin, I want to clean myself after eating. Lastly, they give you a new plate everytime you walk to a station, but I am guessing this is for sanitary reasons. The beach bar also serves snacks like burgers/grilled cheese/ice cream which was also very nice. You also get one free dinner at the restaurant is which is very nice. The resort & entertainment: I think this was a huge selling point because the beach was so clean and the sand was super fine and just such an amazing view overall. There are umbrellas and chairs you can sit on and you should wake up early to reserve a spot if you can because it gets busy. There is a little tent by the beach where you can pay a bit extra to go sofa surfing, snorkeling etc which I really loved. (Sofa was super intense but so fun!! 40€ for two people) There is also zumba in the pools nearby the beach bar and they play volley too. The resort also does entertainment in the evening like little beach parties or movie nights for kids so it is very family friendly. There is also a massage parlour which I highly recommend and an adults only pool. If you want to bring a floatie, you can also get it pumped up in the market that they have. Things to improve on: - The air conditioning - The closing times of the pool, they usually closed their pools after like 7-8pm - The cocktails can be a little less syrupy

We recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a lovely experience. First of all, be prepared for a 3-hour transfer from Heraklion Airport – something worth keeping in mind. The location is fantastic – a very picturesque and quiet area with a beautiful sandy beach. Sunbeds are generally available, and there’s an option to reserve front-row sunbeds for an extra fee. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. We had a wonderful view of both the sea and the mountains. Housekeeping came daily: the beds were made, and a new bottle of water was provided each day, although the bed linens were not changed during our stay. There are several pools, all clean and well-maintained, including an indoor pool and a jacuzzi. The food was decent – I’d rate it around 7/10. As someone who doesn’t eat meat, the variety was quite limited for me. Most of the time I had potatoes, white fish, or pasta with plain tomato sauce. There was also a Bolognese sauce option for meat-eaters, but that was it – just two sauce choices for pasta. Shrimp was served only once during the week. Cheese lovers will enjoy the daily feta and a few types of other cheeses. The only ready-made salad available was the classic Greek salad, which became a bit repetitive. There’s definitely room for improvement in terms of variety and vegetarian options. Drinks included white, red, and rosé wine, as well as beer during main meals. Cocktails were available at the pool and main bars. One thing to note: tea and coffee were not offered during dinner in the main restaurant, which we found a bit unexpected. The Greek à la carte restaurant was excellent – we really enjoyed our meal there. The entertainment team, especially Barbara, was wonderful – warm and engaging. The staff overall, including the waiters and service team, were fantastic – always friendly, helpful, and attentive. One important note: if you’re planning to visit in May, be aware that the weather and water can be quite cold. For the first few days, it was too chilly to swim in either the sea or the pools. This, of course, isn’t the hotel’s fault – just something to consider when planning your trip. In summary, it’s a great place with a lot of potential. The peaceful setting, friendly staff, and lovely views made the stay special – and with a few improvements to the food offering, it could be even better!
