Pizzeria Obelix in Makrygialos is truly a gem for pizza and gyros lovers, with everything else they serve also tasting incredibly delicious being an added bonus. Their pizzas are not only made with fresh and high-quality ingredients in a wood-fired oven (olive tree), but their gyros are also of the highest quality and taste fantastic. The staff is very friendly and helpful, always ready to give recommendations and ensure that customers have a great experience. But it's not just the food that draws people in, their ice cold beer and many great sports broadcasts that they show on their TVs also help to make this place one of my favorite spots worldwide. We ordered beef gyros (as they didn't have chicken) and vegetable burger. After 45min of waiting I went to the waiter, asking if our food was going to be ready soon. The waiter said that they were out of vegetable burgers and asked if we wanted to order something else. I found it very ignorant, how they left us to wait, not even coming to tell us that they were out of the food we ordered - only telling us after we patiently waited and checked on the order ourselves. That was the worst experience in Crete for us! Waiting with two small children for one hour and twenty minutes for a pizza. As costumers the feeling was that if you don’t scream, make notice, be loud you might leave hungry and waste your time as we did in this place.
