Did a long weekend in Corfu last weekend, last minute booking. Was a bit dubious as people mentioned overbooking and being put elsewhere but decided in the end to go for it. |We were pleasantly surprised, we got a nice spacious ground floor room with a kitchenette. All basic but sparkling clean, nice hot powerful shower. The kitchenette had a hot plate, small kettle, basic crockery/cutlery and a fridge which came in very useful as it was 32 degrees. Other reviews mentioned paid for aircon but apparently they have started incorporating aircon into their prices, we didn’t pay any extra for it. We had room 2, looking over a courtyard with a small balcony. As it was the ground floor people walk past frequently. |I thought the pool area was nice, smallish but again clean. The owners son was very pleasant, let us extend the room till the evening as our flight was at ten pm and organised our taxi to the airport for us. The food served at Leftis is fairly adapted to British tastes, lots of burgers and chips. Didn’t eat there as it’s not my kind of thing so can’t comment on it. |It’s brilliantly located for supermarkets and eateries. Despina the bakery and coffee shop is huge and fantastic! About 4 minutes walk away and full of goodies, fresh made pastries, filled baguettes, mouthwatering cakes and lovely coffee. The Corfu orange cake is an absolute must, delicious! We walked up the hill to the village taverna in old Moraitika on our last night and had a fantastic dinner there too. |The beach is about 5 minutes walk from the Leftis Romantica. Lovely clear seas but it’s a bit shingly and pebbly to get into - lovely soft sand once you’re in but take rock shoes. |Thoroughly enjoyed my long weekend out of grey Britain and would happily go back to the Romantica. Beds are not soft but I’ve had worse and didn’t get a bad back! No WiFi in the room but it’s fine on the balcony and by the pool. Good 5G round there too. Don’t think you can beat it...
Read moreWhat an amazing little hidden gem. Leftis Romantica is a quiet, tranquil and easy going apart hotel. The swimming pool is absolutely spotless, crystal clear. The hotel grounds are well maintained with gardens and an allotment growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. The rooms are basic but absolutely tick every box, nicely sized rooms, nicely sized balcony (with beautiful views), small and basicly equipt kitchenette which I have cooked a lot of lovely meals in. Well working air con, which is complimentary. Staff friendly and helpful. Particularly the owner, leftis. He is sociable, gets to know you and the family, plays pool with you and hosts the Greek night bbq which is great fun. All the people staying here have been very friendly. The beach is literally on the doorstep, the main bus stop is also literally on the doorstep, the main supermarket is also literally on the doorstep. Also within reach are many fun amd interesting things to do. We have done horseriding, weve been into corfu old town, weve been on a boat trip and separately hired a boat. Weve been snorkeling and pedloing and have been to see evening entertainment and eat great food at the local bars and restaurants. We will...
Read moreI stayed here with my 21 year old Daughter from 28th May Until 11th June.|Leftie greeted us on arrival and showed us our room which was right next to the reception and close to the pool and bar. Greek style room, clean and minimal. There were 3 beds , a small kitchen and a bathroom with a shower. We had everything we needed. The room also had air conditioning. We paid 10 Euros for a safe for 2 weeks which was located in reception. Leftie also sold cases of water. It was a quiet time of the holiday season which suited us well. Plenty of bars , shops and tavern's near by. We had bed and breakfast and Leftie would cook to suit. His wife was a great cook so on many occasion we ate at Romantica. It was a lovely family atmosphere and we made many new friends. The beach was only a short walk away. Overall we had a fantastic 2 weeks and would definitely go back. It felt very safe there so i would have no problem...
