The best food I have had in Greece !

This beautiful taverna located with a sea view up in Moraitika old village serves traditional food of the highest quality.

George the owner and host has taken on the restaurant from his grandfather (Papou) Tassos and had continued to serve fantastic family recipes passed down for generations with lovely service.

Try to get a sea view table on the rooftop if you can and I would recommend anything from the grill or my favourite dish sofrito.

We couldn’t help but come back several times during our trip as it’s was some of the best food we have had on any islands or in Athens, it was refreshing to be treated with real traditional Greek service rather than some of the tourist shows offered at other places in the area..

My son and I went to check this place out after all the raved reviews it got online and on Trip Advisor and let me tell you. Best place to dine in all of Corfu. George and his father Kosta make you feel so special and welcome. The food is so tasty and savory filled with passion and tradition. We were here off season, but I would still recommend to book a table in advance because of the popularity and trust me you don’t want to miss out. My son is a multi food allergic (gluten, dairy, nuts and seeds) and Kosta can make whatever you want as long as he knows in advance. Well people, if you’re looking for an authentic Greek family run restaurant then you need to visit George and his family at Tassos Village Grill. It’s situated up in the old Moraitika village, bit of a hill to climb but it’s well worth it. There is an upstairs terrace where you can look out over Moraitika and Messonghi whilst sampling some of the best food, service and atmosphere you could ask for. Try and go before it’s dark and wait for the lights to come on in the villages below as the sun goes down, it’s magical. You will be looked after, fed, watered and leave happy.
