We have been drinking Adonis’s cocktails for several years now. He can knock up the usual stuff with ease but also has the imagination to come up with some fabulous creations of his own. This includes interpretations of the classics. His vodka martinis are certainly the best I’ve ever had. The same goes for his spicy margaritas - including his own homegrown chillies! Last night’s highlight was this Vespa Martini. Exceptional and a match for London’s cocktail supreme Alessandro Palazzi at the famous Duke’s Bar. The top notch ingredients have a lot to do with it. The old man pouring the drinks graced my water with a wafted essence of Blue Label. When politely questioned as to the drink’s watered down nature, he immediately became bellicose. He accused me of being bad for business. We attempted to get another drink to see if our judgement was off. He denied us. I said we wouldn’t pay because the quality of the water tasted like watered down whiskey. He grabbed my iPhone from the table. There was brief physical altercation to take my iPhone back. He pretended to call the local police, but no one ever arrived. I begrudgingly paid in full to deescalate the matter. Disappointed. Wanted to have a cold coffee and a quick snack before leaving Symi. Sat down and waited for a waiter to bring us menus.
