Il Melograno - Santorini traditional cave house — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

Rodoula is the only bad host I’ve encountered on AirBnB. My family and I found her to be rude, not approachable and she had such an attitude. She was very stingy with her supplies. Tap water isn’t drinkable in Santorini (which she only told us upon check in), and she still didn’t have the decency to provide us with some bottled water despite us walking around in 34 degree heat in the few hours prior to check in. She only provided us with water once we asked. She provided us with so little shampoo/ shower gel/ tea/ coffee etc; it felt like we had to ration. She was not flexible with an early check in (she eventually agreed to 2 pm in instead of the usual 3 pm). This is despite me telling her that my mum started feeling unwell in the heat. Hard to believe that she charges 300 euros a night for this. For us, she was not...

A wonderful cave house just outside of Fira. Easy to get around and close to the bus station and supermarket. The house is cleaned daily, quiet being outside of the city (except for dogs barking), and a good central location on the island. If you stay here you should check out Erotokios bakery, Katerina's, Karvounaki in Fira, and the food tour with Aristotle (look on AirBNB). We were also able to get an ATV brought right to the house by Santorini moto rentals. We mentioned the hotel next door, Aldea, as a reference point and in a half hour we had an ATV and were on our way. You do need to have an international license. I would stay here again for sure! Wonderful apartment and very friendly host!

The apartment is spacious, with two bathrooms and two bedrooms (one open to the living room area). Wi-fi works very well, the terrace is large, ample storage, and very clean.

Rodoula was fantastic! This being one of our first holidays with child I had a lot of upfront questions and she never seemed tired of assiting to ensure we will have the most pleasant stay (taxi, high chair, Corona test, baby bed....). During our stay Rodoula continued with her supportive manner (being flexible on the cleaning, depending on when we decided to go out that day, recommendations for food/beaches/wine tasting...).
