My boyfriend and I just got back from a week away in Santorini staying at these suites. We had one of the best holidays we have ever had at this hotel and I am truly sad to have left. I personally haven't left the U.K since 2019 so I was very nervous to go on holiday again but this glorious break at this hotel was exactly what I needed to build up my confidence in travelling and remind me why I love going away. ||We would like to thank all of the staff members at this hotel for our brilliant stay as each and every one was so polite, professional, friendly and helpful! The bar staff were always very chatty and made the best cocktails ever! We loved the fact that you can order food and drink right to your sun bed and the staff were regularly coming round to take your plates and rubbish away and making sure everything was satisfactory. In addition, the staff at the reception were always very happy to help with whatever request you had. On the first day I asked for an additional pillow and within an hour it was bought to our room, additionally when we had a problem with the whirlpool someone came to our room within 10 minutes of the request being made to resolve it. The staff also helped us to book our boat excursion and spa treatments, so we really want to thank you all for making our holiday such a wonderful experience. If you wish to use the spa, I would encourage you to do so as I had a brilliant time there and for ÂŁ90 I got a full body massage and a 15 minute facial!||I would highly recommend the suites with the whirlpools to anyone who is looking at staying at this hotel. We had a suite on the top level so the pool was slightly smaller than the ones below. However, we had the sun shining on our balcony late into the evening so we would spend hours enjoying the view in the whirlpool before going out to dinner. The room was also very clean and generously sized. The shower was a walk in shower with lots of space which is something I look for in hotels as I hate to feel cramped in (and also my boyfriend is 6'6 so we struggle with smaller sized rooms). Finally, the bed itself was so comfortable to sleep on so we never had any issues with sleep. It was the perfect size for both of us and also had the right amount of softness whilst supporting your back when you slept. We both slept so well this holiday!! ||In addition, booking these suites means you get access to both pools in the hotel so there's more choice/ privacy should you want it. We used the private pool for the first few days and were very impressed with the quality of the beds. The sun beds were very sturdy and had thick pillows on which were extremely comfortable to lay on. The pool itself was quite small and a lot of the sun beds were placed directly in the sun with little shade, so they would be in the sun all day long. There weren't any parasols in the private pool area (however there were some trees that provided some shady spots) which meant you really were exposed to the sun in this area which is something to consider if you need shade when sitting by the pool. The private pool was very peaceful to sit around, though, and it was very relaxing to be able to read my book and not have a lot of background noise like the bigger pool had. As this pool is towards the back of the hotel, it's worth noting that the wifi didn't work as well back there so we couldn't really order drinks from the sun beds as the wifi wasnt strong enough, just something to consider. Towards the end of our week, we opted to move to the main pool area as although it was slightly noisier and busier we found we wanted that liveliness and buzz (plus wanted the stronger wifi to order drinks). ||It is worth stating that at no point did we have any problem with getting sun beds at either pool during our stay. There were beds available any time of day.||The hotel itself is very well looked after and you constantly see people sweeping, cleaning and looking after the main areas i.e the pool and poolside bar. I don't think I ever saw an area of the hotel that wasn't clean during our stay, which is very impressive. ||The only aspect of this stay that needed improvement was the breakfast. The food was lovely and everything tasted amazing, however the selection was a little lacklustre. I.E the only option for fresh fruit all week was melon and watermelon, it never changed throughout the week and it was the only option for fresh fruit. You had your basic selection of pastries with some croissants and pain au chocolat, but the selection was an average spread of food. There were also no labels or signs to tell you what things were which I feel needed to be added as there were cakes or cooked options that I avoided as I wasn't sure what it was. For someone who may have an intolerance or allergy, I feel it's important to have the foods labelled. ||There are shops nearby so if you wanted to venture out and get some other fruit/food you can do so. Also, the poolside bar snacks/lunch food was very good as well, so you could always hang on and have something from there if you wanted. ||Finally, the hotel is in a brilliant location as there are bars and restaurants close by and its a very short walk to the beach front. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from along the beach front and the prices aren't too bad either. Our average food bill came to between ÂŁ40-ÂŁ65 per night (with alcohol). Some places I would recommend are:|- Mama's recipes (directly opposite, greek)|-Posedians (greek)|-Atlantis (greek)|-Pergola (italilan)||We had a fabulous stay and we would be thrilled to come back. We were even tempted to ask if we could extend our stay for another week when we were checking out...that is how much we enjoyed our stay here.||Thank...
Read moreWe had a fabulous stay here. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are cleaned to a high standard every day. The huge bed was really comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water in the large shower room. |We never had a problem getting one of the really comfortable sun-loungers around the pool. We stayed in room 98 which was on the top floor and we had a plunge jacuzzi on our balcony. The water was cold but the balcony was a sun trap in the later afternoon so we appreciated somewhere to cool off. |Having read previous reviews on here I wasnât expecting much from breakfast but it was fantastic! There was so much choice. Cereal, pasties, cakes, omelettes, fruit and yogurt, bread, continental style meats and cheeses as well as a selection of hot items. We certainly never went hungry!|The pool bar was great with a great variety of drinks and snacks. Staff were always efficient and friendly. |The location is perfect. Literally less than 30 seconds to several bars and restaurants but somehow youâre not aware of the noise and busyness once youâre inside hotel grounds. Itâs a 5-10 minute stroll down to the beach and the many beachside tavernas and the bus stop is just outside the hotel so you can easily get to the rest of the island should you wish. |On the last day we werenât being picked up until 5 pm so we managed to get a room in the main hotel so we could shower etc. We paid an extra 40 euros. This room was also nice, it was smaller than in the suites and didnât have the plunge pool but had a safe/fridge and a very good shower! There was a shower and a safe we could have used if we did not want to pay the extra for a room. |2 small suggestions I have to make minor improvements are that reclining chairs rather than deck chairs on the balcony would be nice and a soap dish by the sink would be useful. |The only negative thing to say is that when we left the room in the main hotel to catch our flight (room 30) my husband left his earphones in the safe accidentally. He has emailed the hotel to see if there is a way of having them returned but we have not had a response. |However, this didnât affect our stay and we will definitely return to the Meltemi Excelsior Suites, we both agree it was the most relaxing holiday...
Read moreThis was a lovely place to stay. We went for our 30th Wedding anniversary and had a room with a whirlpool on the ground floor. The pool was a lot bigger than I thought it would be, it was beautiful. The sun wasn't on it or the courtyard for long which was the only downside for me. Everything else in the room was lovely, plenty of hanging/storage space, a small fridge, nice shower.|The small pool for exclusive use by the suite rooms was nice but too hot for me, there was no shade/umbrellas at all. The larger pool was lovely and combination of sun and shade.|Breakfast was nice, not fancy but enough for what we needed.|The staff were really good, everyone was polite and helpful, it felt like they were all part of a friendly family business. They kept the hotel very clean and tidy.||We wanted to relax and so also went to the beach which was a 10 min walk. We sat at one of the beachfront restaurants and paid for food and drinks so got the beds as part of the price. It was really lovely. The sand got hot so remember your flip flops.||We hired a quad bike, with help from reception, and went to Oia for the day, it was very busy there so actually left Oia before sunset and watched the sunset from a clifftop bar with a cocktail.|It was a lovely place, we went for 7 days but could have...
