Lovely beach. I drove here on an ATV. I would recommend driving the length of the beach to pick the best spot. Lounge chairs cost money or are free if you buy something. I choose to just lay on one of free spots directly on the sand.
Black sand is hot, but soft. Bring shoes. Water is cool in summer, but warms up after you get in. Ocean bottom is small smooth pebbles/rocks. Water is clear.
The difference between this beach and ones at Mykonos is the beach is located next to a small town. There are about 40-50 restaurants and cafes that line the beach. We also ordered falafel and tatziki, they were quite good. The worst of it was they first asked to pay in cash and when we said better with card, they themselves asked for tip. There was nothing which could encourage us to give tips, but we agreed and rounded off the amount.
Sunbed, shower and water made every thing worth at the end. So 5- star for...
