We have just spent 10 nights holiday at the Pantheon Hotel in Santorini.|Firstly let me say how lovely, helpful and friendly Ritza and all her staff are, always smiling and there to cater for their customers needs throughout the day and night.|As with all reviews written, this is obviously only our opinion of what we experienced during our holiday and does differ from other reviews from previous holiday makers that have stayed at the Pantheon.|The tourist tax we paid for our 10 night stay was one hundred Euros, 10 Euros per night. I don't believe this hotel warrants a 10 Euros tariff as it is not a 4 or 5 star hotel in our opinion.|The breakfast was of a very average standard and the "HOT FOOD" was at best luke warm if you got to it early enough.|Don't get me wrong you could always find something to eat like toast, jams, honey or yoghurt but there were some very strange choices for breakfast as others I spoke too agreed.|The standard of food offered did seem poor compared to the great food you could order during the day or evenings.|On booking we upgraded to a Double Deluxe Garden Room but the room we were first allocated on arrival certainly didn't appear to be very deluxe. Ritza did immediately offer us a different room which was a lot bigger and I think may have been a Triple Garden Room but again didn't seem very Deluxe compared to the images on the TUI booking site.|We did accept this room and it turned out too be okay albeit on the rustic side. It was clean and tidy and the towels were changed each day.|During our stay the Island experienced some extremely high winds which was no fault of the hotel but this led to the door to our room rattling all through the night keeping us awake for most of the night.|The only way I could stop the noise was to stuff a towel between the frame and the door.|When I reported this to Ritza she instructed me to put some paper between the frame and the door but there was no suggestion of fixing the loosely fitting door to solve the problem when windy in the future.|As previously stated Santorini experienced some unusually high winds over a 2/3 day period towards the end of our holiday which led to the pool having sand and dirt being blown into it making it extremely dirty.|I know there's not a lot you can do about that but I never witnessed anyone cleaning the pool prior to the storms or the jacuzzi which had a green water mark around the water line.|None of the above ruined our holiday but I just needed to report our view of what we experienced...
Read moreHonest review of our time here. Lovely staff and hotel, clean rooms (new towels and bedding daily, bleached floor etc) standard room, no kettle just a fridge and glasses (wine glass/coke glass). ||Our room hotel bathroom locked us in the bathroom and we had to shout for help to get out, the room door to our hotel room didn’t lock from the outside and aircon constantly leaked pools of water all over the floor, did mention it and they said they’d fix it but it happened again. ||Staff provide towels for around the pool but look like they have been left by other guests and then given to new guests to use to be honest. Owner is a lovely lady, sorted out transfer for us and other bits and bobs throughout our stay. Tourist tax seems very expensive (10 euros per night), when we looked into this it says 5* pay 10 euros a night but this is a 3 so seems costly. Would recommend not trying to stack up a bill here as they may add things on, luckily we remembered what we had throughout our stay so didn’t pay it. Hotel is not in Perrissa but is in Perlivous which is a small beach town with not much to do, similar to perissa. Have to get 2 busses to Oia/Kamari, 1 bus to Fira, taxis to and from Fira are 60+ euros and a waiter wouldn’t even tell us how much it would be from Oia so I can only imagine, there is a taxi boat which goes to Kamari but we nearly died on it so don’t risk it when it is choppy sea. ||If you can stay in Kamari (much more to do and more lively, just as nice beaches), also quiet and not heavily touristy, or Oia for sights or Fira but these are heavily populated and can be a nightmare for some. Kamari may be your best bet/even closer to Perissa. ||Perissa had some things to do but lack of bars and frustrating when a taxi 5 minutes down the road is 30 euros and it’s a 45 minute walk in pitch black on a main road. Think wisely about the location of hotel before booking. Found other guests that stayed rude but may just come with the quiet area. Stay here if you want to be bored out of your mind for your stay, not the hotels issue just the location...
Read moreWhere to start ... This was our second time to this lovely hotel. And it was as good as before of not better.|First Ritza, she is a hard working friendly helpful lady who is the backbone of this hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. When we wanted to do a trip she organized for us to go on a boat trip and just paid her and she printed our tickets.. when we wanted to go out to thira she organized a taxi pickup at the hotel . 100% fantastic service .||Now the hotel .. the rooms are great, so clean and comfortable. My room was gorgeous, looked like just had refurb. And it was upstairs with great Seaview.|The pool area is lovely with a fantastic area to chill and have a drink or food during the day or evening if you don't fancy going out.|Food looked great when I was nosy looking at what people were eating but I only had a Greek salad so can't comment much on that |Breakfast was ok but not great for me as I can't eat bread, pastries or fried food at the minute. I had a lovely Greek salad and watermelon every day so was fine. They change the type of eggs daily so sometimes boiled , fried poached or omelette. No bacon though. |The location is not far from beach so easy to get out and about. I would say though it is not ideal for anyone with mobility issues as it's very hot walking back from beach and a little tough going. Saying that the hotel itself would be ok for wheelchair as ground floor in the grounds rooms and pool have easy access.|Thanks pantheon hotel , we had a lovely stay and hope to...
