I'm writing this as I'm sitting by the pool, soaking up the last few hours of Santorini sunshine. Having not booked any holidays for over three years now due to Covid, I didn't book it how I had do previous breaks.|I found the Petra Nera though Opodo and it ticked all the right boxes for me. Considering Santorini isn't the cheapest destination to go, I was very happy with the price. As one other guest who I spoke to said the same sentiments as me, that the rooms are quite basic but have everything you need are are keep very clean each day.|There is a lovely pool area which again thr pool is cleaned daily, it's just the right temperature and is perfect after a little while in the sun. There are a few lilos they have there.|There's possibly a bar poolside wasn't open when we were there.|Right opposite the hotel entrance is a supermarket that supplied us with all our needs for both breakfast and daytime snacks and ice creams. Next door to that is a bakery which has plenty of items to make sure your put on a few extra pounds.|Everyone is so polite, friendly and helpful. Katrina at reception helped us book one of the Island trips (something else I highly recommend).|The beach is a 7-8 minute walk, which the same road take you down to the beach road where there's a huge selection of tavernas/restaurants.|I'm personally delighted we chose Perissa to stay at, as everything's on one level unlike Oia.|You can easily rent a moped, quad bike or car from nearby places or again reception can help out.|Will I return and recommend, most definitely yes. Read moreWe have been staying at the Petra Nera hotel since 2002 - our most recent stay was for 4 nights and once again we had a great experience. We pre arranged the transfer from the port and literally stepped off the ship into Giannis’ (Owner) van for a very comfortable trip to the hotel. We booked two rooms for ourselves and our 2 teenagers (15 & 16) - the rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean and cleaned every day with fresh towels provided every day. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom facilities in the rooms were excellent.||The pool is well maintained with plenty of sun loungers and there’s an amazing bakery (24 hour) and a supermarket just across the road. The hotel is a 10 min walk away from the beach and numerous restaurants along the seafront.||The hotel has cars available for rent and we took one for two days at superb value. This meant we could explore Santorini and it’s sights and beaches - Fira town is about a 20 min drive and the beautiful sunset in Oia is only a little over half an hour away. The bus stop is a two minute walk from the hotel but we’d recommend the car hire for the sheer convenience and value.||We also booked a volcano tour which included pick up and drop off at the front door and again was a great experience all arranged simply by the hotel.||The staff at the hotel are friendly and very helpful so we couldn’t find a fault and thoroughly enjoyed our time there....
Read moreWe have just stayed at Petra Nera for a week and couldn’t have had a better holiday. The hotel was everything we needed with a comfortable and clean room and lovely pool area. The air con in the room was great and worked instantly. Breakfast was a lovely continental spread and was always fresh and stocked up. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly for the whole week and the hotel owner offered to take us to the airport on our way home, as he knew we were making our own way there. ||The hotel is in a perfect location, a nice 5 minute walk from the beach and across the road from a supermarket and a 24 hour bakery. We were also across the road from a car rental shop, where we rented a car for 2 days and were able to park it with no hassle at the hotel. There were many restaurants along the road of the hotel, with many more restaurants and bars along the beach front, so there was no shortage in the area of the hotel. ||We want to return to santorini already and we would definitely...
