We really wanted to enjoy this place, but unfortunately we strongly suggest management to train their waiters. The service was exceptionally rude and horrible and made us feel very uncomfortable. Everything started fine and we were so excited. When our food came, the waiter made a big mistake on our order and had to take all the dishes back because he was unable to understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan. We had told him multiple times. I am all allergic to milk so we want everything to be vegan. He confirmed multiple times everything is going to be vegan and he looked so annoyed and upset with us that we are requesting our food to be made correctly. Once he brought the correct food out, which did not look like it was prepared in the same way, it was a very awkward and uncomfortable experience. The presentation of the falafel was completely messy and looked like it was thrown together. The waiter extremely rude and was so annoyed by the small simple calm request. Personally, I saw the waiter refill other customers water while telling us to go refill it at the bar, which is very weird and rude for customers who are eating to go back-and-forth to get water. As much as I would like a vegan restaurant to survive, the wait staff makes this a zero out of five restaurant and I hope management takes these negative reviews seriously to address poor customer service. We will never return to this business and tell our followers to not support until we see consistent feedback to improve the service. The proper way the waiter should have been trained to handle his mistake would have been to apologize which he never did for bringing the wrong food and at least bare minimum, give us a dessert item or drink on the house and make us feel comfortable… not be so rude and awkward to the point where it ruined our entire dining experience. We ate dinner at 9 PM on Wednesday, July 23 for a bill of $48. We had the falafel the empanadas and Greek salad and a smoothie. Horrible and poorly trained waiter that should probably not be working in the...
Read moreTranquilo Cafe isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a cherished part of my Santorini story! I first visited 5 years ago, then again 3 years ago, and returning now, I’m thrilled to see how this gem keeps evolving while staying true to its soul. Nestled near Perissa’s black sand beaches, it’s a bohemian oasis where relaxed vibes meet culinary excellence, and each visit feels like coming home to something even better than before.
The Mango Salad remains a star—a vibrant mix of sweet mango, peppery arugula, creamy avocado, and crunchy seeds, all drizzled with a zesty lime dressing that’s as bright as the Santorini sun. And the Frozen Margarita? Still the island’s best! Perfectly balanced, icy-cold, and irresistibly refreshing—it’s the ultimate antidote to a day of beach lounging.
Over the years, I’ve watched Tranquilo refine its menu with creative twists (hello, spiced chickpea bowls and citrus-infused grilled octopus!) and elevate its already-stellar service. The team remembers regulars and newcomers alike, blending warmth with professionalism. The decor, too, has blossomed—think more lush greenery, twinkling lights, and cozy nooks that make every meal feel intimate.
What’s remarkable is how Tranquilo honors its roots while innovating. The same soul-soothing Aegean views, the same dedication to local ingredients, but with a menu and ambiance that keep surprising and delighting.
To the Tranquilo team: Thank you for growing gracefully and never losing the magic that hooked me years ago. Each visit feels like rediscovering Santorini through fresh, flavorful eyes.
If you’re in Perissa—whether it’s your first time or your fifth—don’t miss this evolving treasure. 🥗🍹✨
*P.S. The sunset here? Even more breathtaking than I remembered. Cheers to many...
Read moreWe came here last night for dinner and we really enjoyed it.
As vegetarians, most restaurants have very limited options (we're fully aware the island is known for fish and meat) so when we found a vegetarian restaurant we knew we had to go.
The menu has so much variety, you won't struggle for choice. We were going to have Tacos as a starter, but when we watched dishes go out to couple, we realised they were big portions. The waitress said the Tacos are more for 3 people to share or 2 people and that will be the meal. So we decided to have the spicy feta dip, then for mains the eggplant hot pot and empinadas.
The spicy feta dip isn't spicy and was very solid. It was a large portion of dip with 2 bits of pita. We thought the 2 bits were 1 portion, so asked for 2 (thinking 4 bits would come out) but it was more like 8 bits of pita! So that was very confusing and so much food.
The aubergine hotpot was delicious! The empinadas too, there were 3 and a dip (this would have made a good starter to share). All the food came out together, so maybe ask for your starter to come first, then your mains.
We had 2 beers and 2 caiprinhas.
The total came to around €70 which was reasonable for the amount of food.
The service was a bit slow, we had to keep getting the staffs attention.
The mains were very tasty. Id bare in mind the portions are quite big, so bare this in mind when ordering or make sure to ask the staff.
Would definitely recommend to...
