Windmill Villas - Santorini Exclusive Retreat — Hotel in Municipality of Thira

Our stay at Windmill Villas was incredible! Nikos, Irene and their daughter were brilliant hosts and made our stay great.

We stayed in the Blue Windmill. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the pool, as we thought it would only be a plunge size, but it was a good sized pool with a picturesque view.

The villa facilities are very comfortable and clean, their is en suites in each bedroom. As well as a good kitchen and bbq outside.

The villas are situated close to the beach of Pori, on the east coast of the island. But is close enough to drive to both the airport, Oia and Fira in 10 minutes.

Our house keeper Lira delivered breakfast each morning, featuring a great selection of options at whatever time suits your plans. Pancakes, eggs, pastries, Greek yoghurt and fruit. With orange juice and milk. The villa had an Nespresso which was great throughout the day.

Nikos setup an open air cinema on two nights of our stay, which Nikos took requests for what we wanted to watch. He ordered us food and setup a nice seating area for us to all relax enjoy a film and food together with him and his family.

We want to thank Nikos and his family for an amazing stay and hope to see them again...

Our family was excited at the thought of staying in a windmill for our week long adventure to Santorini, and the charming and well equipped Lilac Windmill at Windmill Villas exceeded our expectations! We appreciated the privacy and space to relax, our kids especially enjoyed the private pool, and we looked forward to the delicious and varied breakfast that was served to us each morning in the shady outdoor seating area.

Nikos, our host, sat down with us on the day of our arrival with a map of Santorini and gave us many recommendations. He was so kind and helpful throughout our stay - he made restaurant reservations at our request, he was always available to answer questions, and he coordinated a sunset catamaran cruise for us which was a highlight of our trip.

Renting a car is highly recommended as you’re located a little off the beaten path (but not really that far from anywhere). Navigating the island by car was surprisingly easy, with the added benefit of being able to visit harder to reach areas...
