Here is a summary of my experience, including some from others from our group, and some notes for future travellers, hoping to help them enjoy their stay.
First note that this place advertises as a hotel, but it doesn't have or offer some standard hotel facilities/services. On the other hand, it doesn't have or offer those like airbnb.
Swimming pool The swimming pool, as per the website, is closed, as is the accompanying restaurant and the great views from the top. However, during my stay, I didn't see anyone doing any repair works, which I found a bit odd.
Fleas/bedbugs All people in our group (9 adults and 3 children), including myself, and some of our neighbours, have been bitten by some mysterious creatures, possibly fleas or bedbugs, based on the marks on the skin, but I can't confirm what it actually was.
Washing Not all the bungalows are equipped with washing machines, so be aware of that if you're booking online. And for those that are, you will need to pay an extra 20 euros per week to use it, and will need to buy your own detergent/laundry powder. There are no hanging racks either, so you may hang your washed clothes on chairs, tables, benches etc.
Cooking If you are planning to cook, you will have to get organised, I mean you'll have to bring or buy some essentials listed below. I would also recommend opening the kitchen drawers, then open all doors and windows and go outside for an hour, until the smell dies down a little. The kitchen needs: -spatula or wooden spoon -a frying pan (the one in our kitchen I wouldn't recommend to anyone) -a sponge -an absorbing cloth -dish drying rack (or similar) -some tea towels -anything else you find necessary in cooking that I may have missed.
Air condition One the rooms in our bungalow (Argo) had an air condition, but it was out of order. I understand similar case was in other bungalows.
Wifi The hotel offers free wifi, but you could only reach it on the top of the hill, so most bungalows are out of range. Positives When I asked for a second access card, the lady responded straight away and gave it to us...

We booked Anaxos Hill back in May and after reading some not nice reviews, I was considering cancelling. We’re so glad we didn’t, we absolutely loved it.
It’s in a beautiful position, looking out to the north, with sensational views of Petra (which we walked to frequently in about 30 minutes) and also Molyvos, a must place to visit. Both can also easily be reached by bus and also the great fun ‘land train’.
Anaxos itself is lovely, much quieter than its neighbours but plenty of excellent tavernas to chose from.
We messaged the number given to us for contact with a couple of requests and these were dealt with instantly and courteously, thank you.
Again, thank you for a fabulous holiday and we wish you well for your planned renovations of the pool area.
Hopefully see you again in the future,
The...
