Restaurant - Tavern "Aggelos" — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Lesvos

If you want a lovely meal, cooked and served by people who just can't do enough for you, this is the place. to go. I fancied something simple one evening and just wanted a plain omelette. Don't think it was even on the evening menu, but no problem.

Now even for someone who's not into cooking, omelettes are pretty simple, so didn't think it was a big ask. Well not until I saw the chef head out on his motorbike and bring back eggs, that he went out specially to buy for my meal, as they must have run out. The lady and gentleman that run this tavern are a delight, as is their lovely waitress.

If you happen to be near Petra region of Lesvos, you must definitely spare a night at Anaxos, at Aggelos Taverna. The mustard infused olive oil they serve with fish dishes will cause a festival on your taste buds. The 'hot salad' prepared from local greens is a delight. The food here is truly delicious and fresh. I’d probably recommend everything I’ve tried, but if I had to pick just one thing — it would be the squid. I’ve never had squid prepared so wonderfully.
