So happy to have stumble on this village and more specifically this quaint hotel. Manage to book it online. Was asked by a local Athenian on how I got to know about this village ie Makrinitsa. Mainly local Greeks visit this mountain village. |This hotel is very reasonable cost wise considering it's location and it's beautiful views from the room windows. We had panoramic views on the 2nd floor. We had a corner room, therefore we had mountain view on one side and city view at bottom of mountain on the other side. Hotel is a family run business. Very accommodating folks. Been in that village for many generations. They have free parking on road side in front of hotel. Owner will guide you in parking your car. There's a footpath up to the village center, approx 900 metres uphill. It's mainly cobblestone but management unless you have knee or back issues. You can drive to center n it takes a few minutes or you can walk along the road uphill. We tried all 3 methods if access. Restaurants are generally in the village center. Very good food n wide varieties. It was our base for 3 nights. Enjoyed it tremendously. The best location of our 3 weeks...
Read moreWe my husband ,brother and myself have just spent two nights at Hotel Adam and wish we could have stayed longer. The accomodation ,food and hospitality were excellent. The views from the hotel down to Volos at night are beautiful. There is parking outside the hotel but as well as the modern road , the hotel sits on one of the old kaldermi, paved ways which lead around the village and island. Walking the kaldermi is time we'll spent, the village has many old churches and houses some in ruins with walnut, pomegranate, kiwi and fig trees overhanging the kaldermi.Through the village one is never far away from running water , making its way from the mountain through stone channels and many fountains to the sea at Volos. We found a different way each time to the Square which is a beautiful place to spend some time. Makrinitsa is wonderful any time of year and Hotel Adam is our...

The hotel is very tastefully decorated and you can feel the passion of the staff who run de business.
