This trip was for my 40th Birthday, therefore the volume of research I did before booking was quite substantial. All I can say is, I am so thankful that each time I considered another country/hotel/apartment, I kept being pulled back to the Erietta. ||Why did I choose it? It is a small family friendly apartment complex situated right beside the sea. Sea views are important to me. There is also access to the sea via some steep steps, there is not a beach per se, but room to sit and swim and snorkel. WITHOUT the crowds of the tourist beaches.||Another reason I booked it, this is a small complex, I think around 15 apartments so it will never get too busy and this also allows for a very personalised customer service. All of the staff were kind, caring, attentive and could not do enough for you. The customer service really sets this place apart from others. George, Anastasia, Demi and all of the rest of the team, were so warm. ||When we arrived we were met by Denia, she welcomed us and took us to our apartment, we arrived before check in time but our apartment was ready so Denia took us along and showed us around. There were homemade welcome biscuits freshly baked which the kids loved. Small touches like this were so thoughtful. We were also informed that we could go to the bar for a free Welcome Drink when we were ready. Our apartment terrace was situated on the poolside which was perfect for my girls 10 and 11. We could find shade on our terrace when we needed and they could play in the pool, whilst we still felt involved. The apartments themselves were spotless, immaculate. Comfortable beds and fantastic air conditioning. We could not have asked for a more comfortable place to stay. ||We booked the Bed and Breakfast option (1 vegan, 2 vegetarians, 1 meat eater in our family) - the a la carte breakfast is outstanding. My partner looked forward to breakfast BIG TIME - the Acai bowls a particular favourite. My kids loved the pancakes and crepes. I loved all of the egg dishes and omelettes. After having our first breakfast, we knew we wanted to try lunch and dinner. And so we did, and as the story goes, we hardly ever ate out with the Erietta restaurant (also open to Public I think) because the food is just sublime! On the few occasions we did eat out, we were disappointed because nothing came up to the Erietta standard. The chef and his team are phenomenal. The produce so fresh and delicious. There is an 'All Day Menu' and then a more formal 'Dinner Menu' for evening. All of the guests were raving about the food. I wish I could give 6 stars, I really do. Albeit there were not many Vegan options for my partner, the staff were more than willing to alter/accommodate for dietary requirements. Just speak to the team at the beginning of your stay. ||Before I forget, the restaurant sits suspended right on the sea, overlooking the island of Kefalonia and Mount Ainos, what a back drop!! A view you will never tire of. You may not see the actual sun set from here, however you do get the after effects and all the colours of sunset which is something to behold. Sunrise on the other side, you get sunrise (if you can get yourself up) from the apartment's sea terrace, and it is absolutely spectacular, we woke early twice during our stay to take this in. Blessed!||There are two pools, one for smaller children and one larger main pool. Water inflatables were allowed, my kids spent so much time playing, we went to the water park one day which was great. I had thought about a water park hotel to please the kids, so glad I didn't because let's face it - all inclusive, busy busy places with loads of people are not just for me. The Erietta is situated about 5 minute drive from Tsilivi, you can walk to a small supermarket in 10 mins if you are reasonably fit. The roads however - I was not as keen to walk with my children as no pavements. We had a hire car so this was not an issue. Taxi services also available. The walk to Tsilivi I think would be around 30 mins, only the first 10 mins without pavements. You could also swim it if you are confident in the sea. ||I think I could go on forever raving about how great this place is. I am not one for revisiting places, however, if we go back to Zante, we will not look any further than the Erietta. Thank you, thank you for making our holiday...
Read moreIf I could give a 10 star I would. I never felt so welcome in a hotel like this one. The service you really feel that is made with love. We stayed in a 3 room apartment that had everything inside it. Dishwasher, washing machine, dryer. I never slept so good, the bed was great and also the pillows. The view of our apartment was lovely to the pool and ocean. It was child safe (lock in our stairs). The breakfast was delicious (recommend you to ask the healthy breakfast option or the greek omelet). The pool was big and they even had some toys there in the pool. The drinks were great (we had several pina colada by the pool, with the great beach chairs). Even several books in the reception (in English and Dutch), like a mini library. I truly recommend the hotel and I can only thank the owners and workers for the amazing holiday we had. If I could only state a negative aspect (that can be solved), is that you must rent a car (because roads are without pavement) or, just get a cab from the airport to the hotel and do not leave the hotel (also a great option, so lovely it is) :) And, as a recommendation to the owners, is to make more 'advertisiment' of the recycling bins for the guests and/or state that the guests could leave the recycling material separated inside the apartments, that the cleaners could get to be recycled....
Read moreBeautiful family apartments, small complex just outside of Tsilivi. Just far enough away from the mass tourism and yet close enough in case you want a more lively evening. The apartments are beautifully kept and maintained, family run and staffed with fabulously friendly and helpful people. A wonderful pool, 2 hot tubs and located high on the cliffs right next to the sea. There's a glorious sea view with views of mainland Greece and the neighboring island of Kefalonia. In the morning there's a glorious sun rise over Greece. Next door to the apartments there's a hidden stairway down to the sea, no beach as such, but room enough to set down a towel and explore the gently sloping sandy sea bottom. Fabulous place to snorkel and dive between the large boulders. An abundance of crabs, urchins and fish wait to surprise you. Erietta has its own restaurant / bar where the food is surprisingly excellent. Open all day and cateting to guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Excellent and very friendly staff look after your every wish. Very highly recommend, out of peak season for people looking for a quieter time, during the peak a superb family holiday. A fantastic base for exploring the island, a car rental is practically a must. Loved every minute of...
