We arrived later than expected at the Pallas Hotel on the 16th May as our flight was delayed by approx an hour due to matters out of the hands of the pilot and flight crew. This resulted in us arriving at the hotel around 3.30pm, the receptionist greeted us by telling us to sit and wait to be called over to sign in. At this point we are all hungry since we’d been sat on the plane since 7am with not a lot to eat. We were not offered any sort of food and were just left to wait with no further instructions. That same evening, after we’d been shown to our rooms and been able freshen up from travelling, the ground floor hallway began to leak sewage everywhere and even came into our room (223) and the room next door (222). This was reported to the reception lady and cleaners came in to sort out the terrible smell and literal human waste all over the floor (which was also being spewed up through our shower drain!). We supposed this was due to toilet paper being flushed down the toilet however some signs in the bathrooms to make people aware of this might be of some use !! Even after the mess was cleared, our drain still bubbled dirty water into our shower room after both us and our neighbours flushed the toilets, we did mention this to reception TWICE and were told they’d have someone to look at it. However no body came along and on our final night the hallway was flooded yet again with more brown liquid!! The cleaners are nice people however they are quite intrusive. After a late night we just wanted to lie in until a bit later (10am/11am) but we were awoken around 8.30am by them shouting at each other in Greek. They also like to let themselves into your room despite you saying, no we’re not up yet. We had a time when the lady came in and just tidied around us lying in bed - a little uncomfortable to say the least!! Now onto the restaurant, for someone with any kind of allergy or intolerance this place would be a nightmare, no ingredients are listed and most things are cross contaminated anyway. There are no options for gluten free or lactose intolerant people either, at least not shown obviously! The majority of restaurant staff (particularly the younger ones) were friendly, however the man in the suit every night (I presume a manager??) always looks miserable, I don’t think he smiled once during our entire stay. One lunchtime we even witnessed him putting finger guns to his head in a way of pretending to be shooting himself - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - I work in a hotel myself and this kind of behaviour would result in dismissal, especially in front of your guests!!! Food in itself was nice, felt a bit samey some days and there wasn’t an awful lot of choice. The opening times for the restaurant are not great - breakfast ends at 10am and there is only an hour for lunch and if you arrive later than others you don’t have much to choose from as it goes quickly. Despite the many cons, the hotel itself is beautiful and the location is great if you’re into your nightlife as there are a lot of clubs and bars nearby. We had a room with a pool and it was lovely but not worth the extra £150 we paid for it considering all the trouble we had. Unfortunately, we will not...
Read moreI have just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely little hotel along with my 12 year old daughter and my parents. Honestly, this hotel is one of the cleanest Tui hotels we've stayed in across Europe. It has been refurbished to a very good standard, with a lovely clean and modern feel. The rooms are clean and modern, and the hotel grounds are pretty. I had a garden view, which I loved. ||The food was great, and there was always plenty of choice, including fresh salads, meat dishes, (including different greek favourites like gyros/koftas) chips, pasta, cold meats, cheeses, fresh breads, and a good coffee machine. The puddings were also great!! The breakfast again was great with freshly made pancakes, pastries, and a good choice of cooked breakfast (not like some hotels where it's dry and cold). Food was kept in enclosed hot dishes and was always quickly replenished. There was also a snack bar between 11 & 12 which was great as they made fresh tossties, wraps, salads and chipe. However, I think it would have been better if it was open until lunch and again in the afternoon. || Drinks were standard non branded spirits that were fine, but there was the option to pay for branded drinks. They also had a small cocktail list, including sex on the beach, tequila sunrise, and a few others. Wine was fine too, and we had a nice cold glass of Rose with our meals. The evening bar staff were lovely and friendly. 🫶🏻 The evening entertainment was also great and again, the bar area was always very quiet and chilled. ||For us, this hotel was perfect for a peaceful week away, especially now that my daughter is older. It was nice not to have a noisy pool area full of little kids. I wouldn't really recommend this hotel for families with small kids as there is nothing for them to do. There were, however, a lot of youngsters (16 & upwards) staying here for the party scene as this hotel is 10 mins from the strip. Maybe we were lucky with the week we were there but honestly they were no trouble at all, they were barely round the pool as I guess they didn't wake up till the afternoon and then they would go off to get ready by 5 meaning the pool area was always pretty quiet & chilled. I also hardly heard them at night coming back from the clubs, but again, maybe we were lucky. Just to add, the strip is disgusting. I've been to the clubbing scene in Ibiza many times, and it is nothing like this. This was dirty and dingy and full of very young teens wearing next to nothing. We walked down there on a couple of occasions to the souvenir shops, and each time, we couldn't quite believe how gross it was. 🤣 The beach, if you can call it that, was also not very nice. ||We did do a Tui boat trip, which was an ok afternoon out. The TUI rep Dale was lovely and always on hand to answer any questions. || All in all, for a fairly cheap week away in the school holidays to relax around the pool, we had a great time, and I would definitely come back to this hotel for the clean, modern and aesthetic feel it had. However, if I wanted to explore the island a bit more and find a nice beach, we would probably...
Read moreAlthough this hotel is fairly close to the awful strip, it is very quiet at the end of the season. Mainly couples enjoying the peace and quiet.|The hotel is clean and bright and although there have been a few bad comments regarding the staff, we found everyone to be friendly and helpful and extremely hard working.|Entertainment not the best but ok.|Food area was always well managed and cleaned and food offering was fine but don’t expect a huge selection.|Snacks only available from 11.00 till 12.00 which was a bit odd.|Basic Ice cream only available with lunch and dinner but there was a freezer at the bar to purchase a selection.|Inclusive bar menu was limited, basic local wines and spirits, poretti beer and 5 cocktails but staff seemed happy to supply any drinks (schnapps, lime etc) as long as they appeared somewhere on the all inclusive menu. You can purchase premium drinks if required.||The only real negative was the premium room with garden view and terrace we booked. As the room was lower than the pool area, the view was of the backs of sun loungers, definitely not a garden view! And people moving loungers early in the morning was noisy.|The bathroom smelt musty and backed onto the hotels sub terrain service area/plant room which was very noisy every few minutes 24/7.|The toilet and wet room bathroom was of the open variety, as in there is no door! If that doesn’t bother you it won’t be an issue.|Storage in the room is also very limited, you will be using your suitcase as a chest of drawers.|Reception did eventually move us later in the week and the balcony room was a huge improvement and was equipped with a bathroom door! The swim up rooms looked lovely and there are a couple with hot tubs, try and book any of those.|Overall hotel is fine, would advise booking a car to visit the nicer area’s of Zante, as there are some lovely typical Greek resorts with good restaurants and views, once you move away...
