We recently dined at Menta, a wonderful family-run Greek restaurant, and it was truly an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm smiles and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that immediately made us feel at home. The restaurant has a charming, authentic feel, with beautiful Mediterranean-inspired decor.
The food was absolutely delicious, with a menu full of traditional Greek dishes that are clearly made with love and care. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, and every dish felt like a home-cooked meal straight from Greece. We especially loved the moussaka and the grilled octopus, which were both perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
But what truly made our experience stand out was our waiter, Henry. He was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Henry took the time to explain the dishes, recommend personal favorites, and even shared a bit about the family’s history and their passion for food. His service was top-notch, and he made us feel like we were part of the family.
Overall, Menta is a hidden gem. If you're looking for a restaurant that offers not only delicious, authentic Greek cuisine but also exceptional service with a personal touch, this is the place to go. We'll definitely be back, and we highly recommend asking for Henry...
Read moreUpon arrival we asked about the gluten free options as we have a coeliac in the group. We were told any of the pastas, grill options or Greek options were gluten free. We ordered at 10:10 and waited 50 minutes to get our food. Once the food arrived the coeliac in the group was handed a plain chicken breast with a side salad which was not communicated with us when ordered. On the menu it said it was served with chips and rice which is suitable for a coeliac. We asked the waitress about the chips and rice and she said she didn’t know and laughed. She then came back with a portion of chips and still said she didn’t know if they were gluten free. Three other people in our group got the Marinara pasta which was supposed to include mussels squid and shrimp. All dishes included 4 pieces of seafood altogether but either the shrimp had no meat inside or the mussels were just the shells. Another person ordered calamari which only had 4 pieces of calamari on the plate and it cost €7.50. We felt that the restaurant was very pricy considering the quality of the food and none of the 10 people in the group were fully satisfied or would recommend...
Read moreA Peaceful Gem in the Heart of the City
We discovered this wonderful, peaceful spot tucked away from the noise of the city — and it truly felt like a hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The staff clearly love what they do, and it shows in the way they treat their guests.
A special mention goes to our lovely waitress, Desilda. Out of all the places we visited during our 7-day stay on the island, she was by far the most pleasant and kind server we met. Her friendliness made our visit even more memorable.
The food was absolutely delicious, with generous portions, and the prices were much more reasonable compared to the loud restaurant next door.
The only tiny thing we missed was the traditional farewell Greek drink — but honestly, that’s just because Greek hospitality is so easy to get used to 😊
Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food, warm service, and a...
