I recently had the pleasure of dining at [nefeli ], and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable meals I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere set the tone for a truly authentic Greek experience.
Ambiance & Service: The décor is beautifully done—rustic yet elegant, with soft lighting, blue-and-white accents, and traditional Greek touches that make you feel like you've stepped into a cozy taverna in the heart of Athens. The staff were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and attentive without being intrusive. Our server took the time to explain the dishes, offered great recommendations, and made us feel right at home.
Food & Flavors: Every dish we ordered was bursting with flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. We started with the mezze platter, which included perfectly creamy hummus, smoky baba ganoush, tangy tzatziki, and warm, fluffy pita bread—an absolute must-try. The grilled octopus was tender and charred to perfection, served on a bed of lemony lentils that balanced the dish beautifully.
For the main course, I had the moussaka, which was rich, hearty, and layered with love—creamy béchamel, perfectly spiced meat, and melt-in-your-mouth eggplant. My partner ordered the lamb souvlaki, which was juicy, flavorful, and grilled just right, served with roasted potatoes and a crisp Greek salad.
Dessert & Drinks: We finished the meal with the baklava and loukoumades—both divine. The baklava was flaky and nutty with just the right amount of honey, and the loukoumades were light, warm, and drizzled in syrup with a touch of cinnamon. We paired everything with a glass of ouzo and a carafe of the house red wine, which complemented the food beautifully.
Final Thoughts: [Nefeli ] is more than just a place to eat—it’s a full cultural experience. The attention to detail, the genuine hospitality, and the incredible food make this a standout gem. Whether you're a fan of Greek cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit. I can't...
Read moreExcellent restaurant to dine in, also brand new as the staff confirmed they only opened this year. Very hygienic and organised space, you can tell a lot of effort went into making a strong introduction. The food was a very pleasant surprise, from the saganaki to my personal highlight which was the stuffed mushrooms, it all tasted very fresh. The mousakas is also a very strong option, if you're looking for good mousaka made fresh, Nefeli is a very competitive option. I personally went for the beef steak which came cooked just as I asked, the meat was very good but their pepper sauce was brilliant. The table next to us got a burger which was a very generous portion so that will definitely be my next option on a later visit. Greek nights happen every Thursday, luckily we got to experience one and were not disappointed! You can count on the people of Laganas to have a good party. The staff are friendly and cater to your needs, some also speak Polish which is a very appreciated addition. Unlike what some reviews mentioned, our dishes did not take long to arrive on a relatively busy night.
In a quick retrospect, I think Nefeli introduces itself by showing care for the customer and serving respectable dishes, unlike other restaurants near the area, we did not feel they were cutting corners and the owner himself visited our table for a quick chat and left a warm and welcoming impression. Will be...
Read moreEven if food and service from our first server was great, unfortunately I'll leave only one star review as everything been ruined by guy who took over of our table and in very unpleasant way PUSH us to pay by cash. When we arrived no one told us that only cash payment are accepted. We were group of 4 coming from the seaside so obviously no one had much cash. Person who had physical card couldn't withdraw full price as reached minimum balance set for Travel Wallet. If restaurant for some reason(read-avoid paying taxes )prefers take ONLY cash payment, fair enough, but at least tell your customers from the beginning. Absolutely one of the worst experiences I ever had in Europe !!!! I believe this is even illegal. P.S.I wanted to live tips for our first server but after all this horrible experience I couldn't bother say...
