Galini studios & apartments — Hotel in Zakynthos Municipality

My stay at Galini Studios was a disaster from the moment we arrived. Although believing we had booked a room which would occupy 4 people, when we arrived at the studios we were presented with an apartment which slept 11 people. If this wasn’t already a shock, we then discovered that each bed was touching the bed next to it, providing no space or privacy for anyone in the apartment. This was an issue for me and my friend as we did not know the other 9 people in the room, one in which was also a boy. Despite making it aware we were less than happy with the room allocated as it was not what we believed we had paid for, we still were not moved. Further, after staying in these beds for a few days all who occupied seemed to be covered head to toe in a large number of bites. We assumed that these bites were due to the mosquitos so we went to the shop and each bought spray repellents and plug in repellents to get rid off the mosquitos. Strangely, after doing so these bites were only multiplying and becoming rather uncomfortable and itchy to the point where one of the girls had to go home because her bites were so severe. When she arrived home she went straight to the doctors where two nurses had to look over her bites confirming that these were ‘the worst bed bug bites they had ever seen’. She warned the rest of us as the nurse said that the room must urgently be fumigated and it was no longer liveable. After going to the apartments owner, Maria, with our concerns and the new information we had received from the doctors she went on to tell us that we were all ‘liars’ and that she did not believe that our bites were from bed bugs despite all the evidence. This had now gotten to the point where it was rather scary as we were all covered in bites and she was persistent to not address the issue. This caused all the girls in the room to leave the month+ journey in which we had all planned as Zante workers to leave Greece early although already paying for an additional week which we did not occupy. This was because we could not physically sleep in those beds anymore and if we could have afforded an earlier flight we would have been on that too. Overall, my stay at Galini Studios was a horrific experience with the owner of the studios having no respect for any of her guests. This was further proven as she would walk into the room without knocking whether you were sleeping or in the middle of getting changed and she would just stand and stare out you without saying anything. I have never felt more uncomfortable, upset and outraged whilst staying away from home before and frankly, I would recommend sleeping on the streets than in this pathetic excuse of...

I stayed in Galini Studios for two months while working. The owners have been extremely helpful and would help in any way they can.

The room gets cleaned and the bedsheets changed weekly by a cleaner who is very diligent at her work.

The whole workers studios have been recently renovated so all furniture is new and of good quality. As part of the workers accommodation, there are multiple beds in each room with one communal kitchen and shared bathrooms. The bedrooms are very spacious with enough storage space provided for each person.

The location is ideal as it is at the top of the main strip, so close enough to everything while being quieter than it would be further down. There is also a supermarket located directly opposite the studios as well as some bars.

The only negative thing I have to say is the lack of availability of air conditioning in the worker's accommodation. The owners do provide fans as an alternative that you pay weekly for their use. As there is enough doors to keep open, it is possible to have a good natural air flow through the studios also.

I stayed in Galini studios for a month and a half as a worker out in zante. we arrived there thinking it would just be the two of us in a room as was agreed, but then 2 people changed to 6 in 2 weeks. The rooms are very dirty. They promised us clean sheets 3 times a week but instead only once every 2 weeks. When the cleaner came in she would sweep our valuables up with a brush yet also take the bed sheets of us while we were sleeping! The owner trys and gets every single penny out of you, a door got a crack in it from an accident and we were charged 500 euros which we know for a fact it did not cost. We had terrible bed bugs while we stayed as well. They also threaten to not give you your passport back if they are trying to get more money out of you which may i say is against the law.
