The room was outdated and not worth the money paid. The bathroom had no window for ventilation and no overhead light to it was very dull at all times of the day. ||The room had 2 wall lights which didn’t make much difference to how bright it was which made doing makeup very difficult. The fridge barely worked and the shelf that was considered a freezer did not keep ice frozen. The two single beds were rock solid and it was very difficult to go to sleep as there was springs poking into our backs. We each had one single pillow and a thin sheet to sleep with, we ended up having to go out and buy pillows and blankets to help us sleep for the week. There were only two sockets (right by the head of the bed) so there were very little places to charge electronics. The air conditioning was an extra €70 and the unit had been placed behind a TV that was on the wall so it made very little difference to the temperature of the room. The balcony faced onto the main road through the town and it was constantly noisy which also made sleeping very difficult. The balcony of our room and the room next door had wasps nests on them. Our room was the same price as the upgraded rooms but did not have the same amenities. ||The breakfast selection at the hotel was terrible, we would not have eaten any of it so we had to leave to go out and buy something every morning. Breakfast also only ran from 8am to 10am which was not helpful if you had an early morning pick up for the airport or an excursion. The breakfast area was directly off the reception area which was also off putting. ||There is a sign at reception saying not to reserve sun loungers by the pool or staff would remove the towels. Every morning we left to go to the shop around 7:30am and almost all of the sun loungers had been claimed with towels even though no one was sitting on them. The pool didn’t open until 9:30 so staff should have been removing them to allow all guests the chance to get a lounger. There were limited parasols around the pool and they were screwed into the ground so you could not move them into a better position, this meant that by 3pm every day the whole pool area and every lounger was in direct sunlight and there was no shade to sit in so we ended up going up to our room at this point most days. The main toilets for the hotel were located down a tiled flight of stairs which seems like a fault in the design as it’s mostly people who have been in the pool that are using those toilets. ||We have stayed in this area before and know how far the walk is down to the beach but most of the hotels in the area offer a shuttle bus down to the beach and back but hotel petros seems to be the only one that doesn’t.||Overall the location of the hotel is fabulous but the amenities throughout the hotel do not meet their rating and honestly if you are considering this hotel I would choose another one in the same area, you get better value for money at...
Read moreMy family and I ( all 9 of us) loved this hotel.|We arrived for a week on 18th August and were allocated 3 rooms , 1 junior suite and 2 standard rooms . Check in was very fast , the lady behind reception was so nice and helpful. From check in to unpacking and getting by the pool all within an hour 😁. | We had a standard room , it was a good size, clean, basic and the beds were comfy with large pillows, you have to buy your Aircon but we knew before arrival. My sister in-law had the junior suite this was well impressive, very modern and had a extra bedroom it was also over looking a quieter shallow kids pool surrounded by gardens lovely ( next time I will upgrade to this !! 😂)|The main pool and surrounding area is nice , clean and well maintained. There was a nice snack/ pool bar at the end of the pool serving ice cold beer from frosted glasses and serving home made food , the home made tzatziki was gorgeous. They also had a big screen showing football behind the bar. Big shout out to Petro, who ran the bar he introduced himself as soon as I arrived and asked how long I was here for and if I needed anything at all just ask , very nice touch I thought . Also running the bar was stellios , great boy with a good future always smiling and having a laugh and Eirene who worked on an evening , 7 days a week ! she was very good conversation and we enjoyed her company. |Nearly everyone at the hotel was related in some way but the staff that weren't like Petros said " were like family " very close loving hotel ❤️.|After a good night sleep we came down for breakfast which was continental and hot food , basic but delicious plenty of juices , tea , coffee, cheeses, meats, breads, scrambled eggs , boiled eggs , GREEK bacon , hotdog style sausage , bean and pastries all nice. After breakfast because there was 9 of us we thought we might struggle to get sunbeds together but it was not a problem and we got the same 9 everyday and this was without getting up in the middle of the night and trying to reserve them with towels, 9 am was perfect time to get sunbeds .|To finalise when leaving this hotel we were sad , we felt like we had become part of Petros family and didn't want the holiday to end.| To all staff the ones I mentioned and to the ones I didn't THANKYOU. We are in the process of booking for next...
Read moreHotel Petros is an outdated hotel. We booked and had a junior suite but I would say these still need updating. When we arrived we had to pay the cash immediately for the tax we were then asked to come back later to pay for safe and air conditioning as other guests were waiting to check in. You get a discount on the air con if you pay cash!! There is a hairdryer in the bathroom it looked like the front half was missing and not safe to use, so I asked reception but nothing was done about it. The breakfast was basic and mostly the same but ok if you don’t want much, we went to memories bar a couple of mornings. The first two mornings we had cold water for showers and then it was just warm unless you are up early. We also had issues with our card not working to get in the door and was told it sometimes gets wiped when you leave it next to a phone which was not the case. The junior suite was a good size and the cleaners are good and you get clean towels every two days. There is a good supermarket a short walk away. In a good position if you don’t mind a short walk to restaurants and bars. ||I think this is more of a two star hotel in its current state but needs a bit of...
