Pacifico by Nikkei — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Restaurant was in the gastronomy Zakynthonian guide, it sounded interesting Peruvian high gastronomy elevated more by Japanese technique. However, my husband and I were really disappointed with our meal.The salmon salad we ordered was nothing special it did not have any fusion Peruvian taste to it, the dressing was simply a boring light soya sauce dressing a very basic salad. They got our order for the tuna sushi incorrect we ordered the non spicy tuna sushi but they gave us the spicy tuna sushi instead .The spicy Peruvian sauce on the top of the tuna sushi over powered the delicate flavours of the tuna sushi. The sushi rice lacked the normal flavours you would expect from a good sushi Japanese restaurant. The service was awful incorrect food and drinks order. Disappointing for what is being marketed as , as a upmarket place you would expect more. The drinks are more expensive than normal Euro 7 for a bottle of still water, Euro 6 for normal green tea which they priced on the receipt as lemon ice tea but the staff told us it was the same price and Euro 7.50 for a 330ml beer . Looking for premium quality dinning experience and good sushi, however prices are premium for austentatious and below average quality food. The setting is very modern with modern chillout music. Service is really appalling, ordered €20 euro Nigiri sushi, salad and a green tea. What was served was €26 Peruvian spicey Nikkei sushi salad and ice tea. Clearly the staff do not really care about their work. Sushi was tasteless, if you want good sushi go to Avant-garde in Zakynthos town. Came here for drinks to escape the afternoon heat. Service as always is friendly and warm, setting is beautiful, right in the middle of the pool, ample shade and good music. Paid €8.5 for each mocktail which is on the high side. Overall can’t judge the quality of the various dishes as we didn’t eat here, however it does seem to be pricey.
